Shouldn’t they be though? Cause they said the monster relays on sound

no, the rake is only op against noobs. good survivors will kill it easily.

i even 1v1 the monster most games.

You're pretty damn hard to see if you stand still, against most rake's i've fought they're pretty oblivious to me standing still
The gameplay is definitely very different from the promo video, for sure. As the rake, I actually have trouble NOT seeing the players, once I'm in the area. Sitting still doesn't give any advantage other than not making sound indicators. And if you are out of range to be very clear, flashlights are still clear as day and many people seem to leave them on frequently.

(That said, I've watched friends play and this game is a LOT darker on their machines than it is, mine. I can see just fine at night without any modifications to my machine to allow this. I just have a bright LG monitor)

The Rake needs a buff, if anything. It's easy to wreck one with a group of 4-5 survivors. He isn't very strong, and even if you max out his settings, he still can't really shine so long as players don't act like idiots.
Stop moving, if you need to move to an area, crouch and do not have a sensitive mic. Use T for the pebble so you can gain further distance. Once you are safe, hide for a smidge, and make sure he went away before you move.

The game is fun, and I've only played with friends, but even with the survivors nerfed and the Rake buffed to max, most matches ended with barely 2 dead.

We only played in high blindness, but I must admit that I'd like to have an even higher blindness setting!

I agree that this game is VERY different from the trailer when it comes to the Rake's vision - which is incredibly disappointing because of the potential for the game. I wish they used a kind of reverse eye adaptation, where the vision not only is blurry, but gets darker in the dark and brighter in the light.

Rake op? The rake is weak as ♥♥♥♥. If anything it needs reworked so that it actually poses a threat to survivors.

I've played three rounds now, twice as Rake, once as Survivor, and I've requested a refund.
It's boring. It's boring, and squinting at the screen isn't fun. Plus you can't "enjoy" the game by talking or freaking out and having a laugh. That works against you.

And then survivors got away in the car, but the game kept going. I "assume" there was another survivor but **** if I could find them.
One dead player was a mouse making noise to distract me, which is a mechanic i question heavily.
Ravens kept spawning and cawing. More game distractions.
Eventually I just started running around in a circle hoping someone with a shotgun showed up to shoot me so it could end.

i hate that the rake vision is just so damn RED. i wish it was more similar to the trailer where it was more white with hints of red, and things were blurry compared to what it is in game where its all blurry dark red
