I still wouldn't expect a super exciting experience for now but at least you can run around with a flower in your mouth for the funsyies, watch the storms and play with the foliage physics. You might get snowed on or happen across some weird detail too.
The game really shines at just being an imerssive experience. I hope they get the ability to back up back in the older dinos soon because I miss that detail of feeling like I'm the dino to such an extent I can straight up back away from something. Such a small detail but it's one so often missed in non-human charicters.
Is it good as a multiplayer right now? Not really. Mostly because of the lack of players. It's a shame really. I do hope it continues current development as it has promise.
Do you mean the backwards walking Rhibirr? The older animals are currently still on the previous implementation of the movement system, which is why they can't walk backwards. Once they've been migrated over they should have that too, definitely planned.
Really appreciate the comments about the immersive nature of the game, one of the main focus points that I hold dear in development.
Yes I was referring to the backwards walking. It's weirdly annoyingly rare in games with non-human playables. Ark allows its animals to back up but a LOOOOT of games just neglect the detail.
The intent is certainly to make the colours feel natural.
Can you show some examples of which ones stand out for you so we can have a look?
I play now and then. Last night, there were four of us on, but yeah, it hasn't quite caught on. I like exploring, though. I don't mind being the only one on.
