Waterfall Gone!!!
HEY DEVS!!!! KNOCK! KNOCK! ANYONE THERE!!!. Why did you remove the waterfall in the cave I was using. It is the one that is connected to the cave right near it. I picked this cave to build in because of the waterfall, it was going to be used to power the water turbine. Now the waterfall is gone, it's gone!!. Why would you do that?!. I had plans, a vision. to build a UFO shaped building in that basin, lights and all, now it will never be, because you took out the falls. And you will probably never read this, the falls will not be put back. And I will most likely delete that game. I am truly bummed.

Caves
Dev(s) you have created some wonderful caves in this game. I have found one with a waterfall inside. I have a video of it on YouTube. www.youtube.com/@ancientgamer759. What I would like to see is in caves, especially deep ones the temperature is a constant, stays the same no matter the season. Sometimes they are warm to hot, other times they can be cool to downright chilly depending on where the cave is found. Was just a thought that crossed my mind, as I was building my underground monster proof base. Perhaps it is something you could consider. For us cave dwellers, lol.

WELL!!!! that's a fine kettle of fish, :steamsad: was it done on purpose? After I posted my last video. I log back in and my waterfall is gone and I can not fill the canteen with dirty water in the cave. Why did you do that? It ruins everything I had planned for in there

I did not delete any waterfalls. I will look.

Ok after looking, no waterfalls were removed but are you by chance in a winter month? Waterfalls stop in the winter months but will resume when it warms up.
That's something that I had not noticed. Even after several winters.

I feel your pain - they dropped a mountain on half of my base

Well the devs needed everyone to start a new game, I did and the waterfall, is back where it was in my other game, I didn't want to start over. I was getting tech and had a good base going. but all hinged on that waterfall. Ah well at least my vision for that cave can be fulfilled, baring any more dev resets that is lol.
The waterfalls goes away in Winter.

I am not aware of waterfalls stopping in winter, I assumed like rapids they would not freeze, and I too had been through a couple winters in there and it did not stop. You might consider that caves are usually at a constant temp, no matter the season, from warm to very hot to cool to downright chilly, you can do that with greenhouses, is it possible for caves? However no worries, I started a new game, the waterfall is there all is good, and that is a crazy start. What is the difference between story and sandbox? And a random placement of the ATV is a bit much me thinks. I used God mode to find the ATV. Perhaps make it spawn in one of the towns/POI's nearest to the protagonist when he spawns in. Break it again, make him find the parts in the POI. Or not. Just suggestions. Thank you for replying.
I have been through several winters, I never noticed the waterfalls gone in winter. I have to be totally honest, I never had a reason to look, so never noticed.
I have mentioned that about caves. Yes most caves are fairly constant. But there are rules.
The entry changes (affected by sun and wind) but once you get a little deeper, then the temp stabilizes. Yes it would be nice if they did "act" like real caves. Total protection from rain/snow/blizzard unless you are in the "entry" or in one of the caves with open top.
But caves tend to be on the cool side and staying in it full time I could also see that you could take cold damage from long exposure. Many moving parts that may be hard to work into a program.
Would be cool though. Perhaps something to come further down the line.

Indeed all true, one can only hope, my main concern was the waterfall keep falling in winter, it is deep in a cave, it would stay moving underground, you might know it, on the map there
are 2 caves close to one another. but they connect underground. The greenhouse gave me the notion the dev might be able to use the same coding for caves
That is a big one. There are a couple really cool caves.
