Archery & Spear Frustration

Before the new map update I was able to right click to set the arrow and then left click to launch the arrow. Now, when I right click the arrow is set but the left click un-sets the arrow, it does not launch it. Same with the spear, I cannot throw it anymore. I have tried binding different keys to the action that is required, but it still does not work like it should. I need help! I really enjoy this game but cannot hunt to get the resources I need to go further in the game.

I think the left Ctrl key is now involved in throwing.

Try reading the little bit of text that pops up (bottom left corner of your screen) to see how it works.

there is no text that pops up anywhere on the screen. I disabled the tutorial long ago since I have been playing this game for a long time. I have had to start over each time a major update was installed. No idea how to activate the tutorial after it has been disabled. Left Ctrl does nothing. Thanks though.

To throw the spear you have to press and hold left ctrl then press and hold right mouse button then aim and click left mouse button. To use the bow you have to press and hold right mouse button then aim and click left mouse button. All buttons I have said are default selections.

I should have checked.

The text I'm talking about is bottom-right, below the tool/weapon durability indicator.

Thank you for the clarification. When equipping the spear I the text you are referring to showed up, When equipping the bow however, no text was present. Thoughts?

Thank you for the clear directions, however I have done this many times and the loaded arrow does not launch, it just gets unequipped.

The longbow *should* be hold right-click to aim, then left click to fire.
If it's not working as expected, maybe you're missing a quiver?

The crossbow, on the other hand, does require pressing R to load the bolts.

If you do have a full quiver, then double check if you remapped your keybinding for what was the left mouse action.

Thank you. I went back and adjusted my keybinding to what it "should be" according to all the help on here. And according to the game on screen pop ups. I can fire the arrow now and use the spear.
