is the dev trying to ruin this game?
1) 25000 to craft elect and mech? most loot is 2 cents might as well forget buying this, total tech cost now is 36000 coins very unreachable.
2) now you have to search for the ATV have fun walking everywhere
3) new loot balance? what going to lower it to 30% so we never find anything?
this game was great I really liked all of it but now it is turning into a job just to play, really sad that it has come to this.
this is my opinion so please be nice some might not agree with me that is your right but remember I have a right to my opinion same as you.
please dev fix this and make it fun to play again.

i agree, the price tag for the electrical and mechanical parts is unattainable for my gameplay, i will never have that much money. However, i love the grind and all the new implementations are right up my alley and i like them. Just my opinion.
The Vambies could carry more money with them. Unfortunately, the arsenal of weapons you can assemble is more than limited. Where is the machete that you can make in the smithy? Or a dog as a companion to take on a few enemies. The whole attack/combat system needs to be reworked. Attacks/defense are no fun this way. And instead of 25000 coins, 2000 would be enough. You only reach such sums in the late game anyway.
So just loot mech parts and electric parts like we had too before? what's wrong with end game content, something to aim for for long playthroughs, literally just make a loot run every 10 days.

And so what you need to search for the ATV?? I like that, it was too easy before, spawning with a vehicle to easily drive past vambies

After 1091 Hours in this game this latest release is pretty much the end for me, agreed the 25000 coins just to be able to craft something we used to be able to craft in previous versions is an impossible task, think i worked out i'd need to sell 78 boxes of cement to buy the tech, on top of the 8000 or so coins to buy all the other tech, which is already enough of a boring grindfest.
The ATV location is a non issue, you can buy the location from the trader for 5 Coins.
(*edit, you can only buy the trailer location, not the ATV location)

The vambies now duck and weave so much it takes 3 times as long to kill them, which has turned the game into even more of a boring grindfest.

The loot tables being nerfed, the fuel cans being reduced and no longer respawn and the best weapon in the game is still a sharp stick....

The developer isn't trying to ruin the game, he HAS ruined it!

You can still buy only location for the ATV cart. Not for ATV itself

But i totally agree that vambies killing is really pain now.

Ah, true.
Well that makes it an actual issue.
New game started last night and i tested out all the new additions and i am happy with it. the new Vambie dodge movements make it a challenge where it was way too easy before, i approve. i have not located the ATV yet and i like that. the loot adjustment is way more appropriate now, you have to work for it and earn it, no more "everything handled to you for free". i do have a couple suggestions.
1. remove the rocks from the loot table completely, it makes zero sense to find a rock in a cabinet on the third floor of an apartment building, same for bark chips and plant fiber, remove them as well from looting.
2. we need to have a reward for being stealthy and sneaking around undetected by the Vambies. How about the ability to stealth kill. if i go through all the trouble to sneak in and around a town to scavenge, i should be able to come up behind and make a kill without triggering the Victim and alarming everyone in the vicinity.
3. create a selection of items that you can choose to start out with at the very beginning of the game/new start before spawning in. Let us choose one item for free to be granted us in our inventory. suggestions would be;
aluminum water bottle
hard hat with light
steel spear
shield
log cart
etcetera, etcetera, etcetera, just some random thoughts. Overall, i am liking the BETA and the changes thus far and have no issues with anything yet,

2300 hrs. in the game and I really don't like running everywhere. Not happy with the update. Also, I ran to 10 locations - no truck, no ATV, and no trailer. Grrrr not willing to run around anymore. Just gonna finish up what I can and stop. We should be able to at least purchase the locations of ATV and Truck for those of us not wanting to run anymore.
I would be a little different if you randomly show up at this spot, then the game puts the ATV in one of the 6 nearest town. Still a lot of running, but at least we have a range to check.

In my one test game. The only "vehicle/trailer" in 17 POI's was the atv. Kind of rough for on foot traveling.

I expect a lot of people will be playing this game in god mode for the first week.

“slayerofgods” I agree with you. The ATV should already be close to your own spawn point. A few towns to explore yes, but not the entire map. It's far too time-consuming to drive around even with the ATV. The truck drives a lot faster. Instead of searching for the ATV, would a grind-heavy repair perhaps be better? So that you first have to completely loot 4-5 cities to get the ATV running. But it's there without you having to search for it. (Marked on the map next to its original entry point into the game)

The game has become utterly laborious since not getting the ATV at your starting location. It wouldn't be so bad if you could run more than a few metres or if you could buy the ATV's location at the trader. Being able to buy the trailer but not the ATV's location makes no sense at all. The game has become harder just for the sake of it becoming harder. The game has gone backward.
Some of the comments here seem to me to reflect many aspects of modern day life IMHO. People wanting everything handed to them on a plate instantly without having to work for it. After starting a new game, I spent my time constructively building a secure base only occasionally venturing out across the map. Up to yet I'm on day 27 and I've just found the ATV, miles from home in a town where the Trader resides. I simply sold everything I had in my two storage containers to the Trader, scrapped the containers and the log cart and rode off into the sunset. It felt very satisfying - particularly as I already knew the location of the trailer which I picked up shortly after. It all feels very rewarding after the seemingly endless days of scouting and building and having to cut down trees and gather stone. I find Mike a pain in the arse though to be honest so I'm not going out of my way to find him. That means doing my own grafting and I'm happy to do so because I've been used to doing that in real life for years anyway (I'm nearly 70 years old.) Knuckle down young 'uns. The best things in life are the things you have to work for.

I did something very similar cyderdonblue.

Walked to an area (mid left a bit) and set up a small base with my bed and unlocked a small number of suitable items using the tech points from the nearby pois that I visited. Had the stone furnace running before I set out. It was after the first winter that I set out really looking for the atv. I made small huts (and a bed) along the way where necessary. I took the log cart with two storage containers with me. When I found the atv, noted it then went back to the base dropped off the cart and all the loot I found along the way. Then ran back and got the atv.

This was more rewarding for myself and play style than after fixing the atv from the start and going off into the sunset. I guess I did not have to fix the atv straight away in the previous game version, but I did. Now I wish I had had more ambition to play more survival like and not take the easy route first. Anyway it is what it is.

The current, random initial spawn is great now and the game is back to when I first started playing - have to plan and work more to get the result wanted. This is much more rewarding.
Game isn't ruined, nor is the dev ruining it. Just stop.

I like that these changes are making looting more important. But I do see, both on the Discord and here, many complaints about the ATV thing. So... most likely I would guess the Dev might make it toggleable from the start for people wanting that full alone experience from the get go.
