You get random copper ore in all the mines with a mineral extractor.

omg then I can walk 20 times before the extractor is build pfff first to set it and then wlak again for couple of times to put the stuff in

You can take 2 storage crates full of the resources to build the extractor on the log cart. Then place and build and fuel and you are good to go.

if you don't have a log cart, you could put 18 ingots in a single wooden chest and then hit N to pick it up.... and then start running, with ghost image of the chest still on your cursor.

Containers being carried on your cursor like that don't weigh anything. If you get attacked, make sure to place it on the ground (when it's green) and "place" it. If you cancel, the box will still be back where you picked it up. The planks and other stuff you can just carry in your own inventory.

The ATv also has a box right, you can put the metal ingots in the box and the planks in your backback and just drive there like a madman

Copper can only be obtained from mineral extractors, the only mineable resources is clay ( both from clay boulders and a chance from boulders in cave) iron ore from boulders in cave and also lead and stone from boulders in cave, although lead and stone has a higher chance than the other resources.
