Maybe worth a try, then obviously give him some time to travel/walk there, you can just follow him around, you can see if this works fairly fast, as he will soon start making his way towards your new base and you would be able to see him walking that way etc. given there are no log stands to fill closer first.
Also what exactly is "25k unreal units", it would be nice to know exactly, from the vague info I see online, 100k is 1 kilometre in unreal, but this can maybe vary from game to game, some more info about this and your issue would be nice.
Now this is trying to apply some sort of logic, so it may be totally flawed. But if the loose info you heard is correct:
100,000 units = 1,000 meters
quarter that.
25,000 units = 250 meters.
If someone can confirm the Units to Meters we could get better numbers.
If you try this, make sure his only task is fill log stands and make sure all the stands at your main base are already full.
I'm guessing here, but if you have that second base and a second Mikes house, I would think you could recall him between the two bases then.
I did the same thing on my base. the main building is all sandstone, near a desert, small POI and cave. I'm curious if we built in the same area.
