The Truck

I searched for the answer but couldn't find it....My question is how do you acquire the truck once you find it?
I know you need a lot of stuff to get it once you found it, but that's a lot of stuff to try and carry around.
I have the truck garage already so is it possible to teleport the truck to the garage and do the repairs there?
I haven't yet found the truck but I want to be prepared once I do.

You have to repair the truck before you can teleport it to a garage. I have always been able to repair the truck by filling up two storage containers and my inventory with the necessary resources, and transporting the containers to the broken truck with a log cart. I always just leave the log cart there and drive the truck home, but theoretically you could push the log cart back home and then transport your repaired truck to your garage. It won't teleport until fixed. Cart with two boxes, one 20 steel and one 20 iron. Backpack carry 15 mechanical parts and 25 plastic. I always have large BP by the time I am getting the truck. Otherwise try the third box trick by E picking up the cart with two boxes on it and then N moving a third box. Good luck not running across a bear. To ditch load hit E to drop cart and then get box green and hit E again. Careful, if you TAB ditch the box it will be last place it was set down.

If you have the expanded storage backpack already (via the loom), you can carry ONE box all the way there with a full inventory of everything you will need, just set the chest down from time to time to save the game as you go. DO NOT PUT THE BOX OF ITEMS IN THE UNREPAIRED TRUCK!!! I did this once and had to reload my save way back to fix the truck...The chest is inaccessible if loaded into the truck prior to fixing it!
