Killing Crocodiles...

How many arrows does it take to kill a crocodile. Do they bleed out like other predators?

Better yet, build 2 spike traps in a shallow V, then hit croc with arrow and lure to the traps. You can then stand on traps and hit croc with spear. No damage to you or the spikes as the crocs don't attack spikes and no running out of arrows.

I tried something similar but i got a bit fancy and got attacked i'll try the simpler method lol

It took me two times of getting mauled by the gator before I came up with an idea. I haven't read to see if anybody else has done this, so I apologize if this has been posted. I use the log cart with two storage crates and pull up in the middle of the swamp onto one of the "islands". Then I run towards the gators, get their attention, and have them follow me back to my cart. I jump on top of the crates and then spear them to death. I think it took me about 6 pokes with a bone spear to kill. Then store the loot in the crate and lure the next gator. Took me about five minutes to get enough skins for the upgraded backpack. Hope this helps someone.

I came up with the platform idea also. Works great! Shoot one arrow or get close to one and then run and jump on the platform and spear it. Boom! 8 skins in the bag.

Although I was dismayed to find out that predators off does not work for crocs. I was standing in the swamp and chatting thru steam and one killed me. :-(

I have new things to try after reading this thread. Never managed to kill a croc without being killed lol. Time to get that sweet backpack! Thank you for the info everyone.

Try winter if you have warm clothes as all the water is ice making it easier to get around. Bring a cart with 2 chests ontop it acts as a marker on the map also you need to load off all that meat and hides . store some spare food and arrows, make a small base if you want to :)

Work smarter, not harder. Even ancient hunters used pits with spikes in the bottom or drove animals off of cliffs. ;-)
