Gamepad with Sands of Time
I have a wired xbox 360 controller plugged in through usb and when I launch the game, it is not letting me bind my gamepad keys in the controls menu. How do I get my xbox controller to pick up into the game?

Lol i got it. Shadowsxfall, all you have to do its double clicking in the blank box where you can assign your key.

Ok, I have got it working with a gamepad, but now I am having some new issues. Whenever I use joystick forwards, the character walks forwards. If I move any other direction he runs like normal. Is it my gamepad (just out of the box for christmas) or am I just missing something?

No I have the same issue. I thought it wasn't calibrated right so I checked, but the issue is still there. It's really irritating. Maybe someone else knows a solution.
(I use an xbox pad)

I also have some minor issues with the Prince's movement with the XBOX360 analog stick. If I move it to move straight up, down, left or right, the Prince will run normally. But sometimes, when I move diagonally, he will walk instead of running, even tough I push the analog stick all the way to the edge. This bug will persist even if I transition to one of the "straight directions" I mentioned before, what forces me to return ther analog stick to its dead pont and start pushing it again.
It is certainly annoying, but the game is still playable nonetheless.

Try using "Pinnacle Game Profiler".

read the last 2 posts on how to fix the running thing. You don't need a program or anything.

XInput Plus is your solution. https://sites.google.com/site/0dd14lab/xinput-plus although the site is in japanese, the program is in english. it installs DLLS to the directory of the program you choose, and replaces MS bad directinput support with it's own wrapper. this will let you map the triggers as separate half or full axes or as buttons (this lets you press both triggers at once, and is highly recommended) it also lets you adjust the sensitivity of the sticks and the dead zone (zero by default). simply browse to your install directory, and click apply after setting up the controller in the program the way you want it. once applied, it will work without needing to run the program again.

I can't seem to get the game to recognize the triggers as buttons, even when using XInputPlus. How did you manage to get it working?

with a ps2 gamepad using a xinput converter works fine, it is a bad port of ps2....

but also this can help with normal 360

when you're re-calibrating, only lightly press the analog stick to the 4 corners of the box (meaning only press it in half way or until the little cross actually hits the corner). This causes the analog stick to be more senstive, making the prince run (you can also walk if you lightly tap)

and increase dead zone with xinput plus

How do you recalibrate the sticks for an XBONE controller? I have everything working great except running to the left. He walks instead when I do that.

Did anyone actually find a working solution to the menu controls? I can bind in-game actions no problem but I can't use menus, save or etc the game. XinputPlus does nothing.

Controller has to be on when opening game in steam. Use mosque to go into options and rebind All the keys using the Xbox controller. So u use the mouse to select and then when it's pressing button u use controller. Once you do it once it'll remember forever but u must launched the game with controller on
