Mega-freeze with xbox 360 pad?

I play using an xbox 360 pad and i have the controls mapped the same way they were in the original xbox version (left trigger to rewind, right trigger for special action). I can perform a mega-freeze move just fine using the mouse and keyboard controls, but for some reason it just wont work when i use the xbox 360 controller. anyone else having this issue? Could it possibly have something to do with the fact that the triggers are an analogue input instead of a digital one?

EDIT: It's definitly the fact that the triggers are analouge that is screwing it up, as mapping the shoulder buttons to those same functions seems to work just fine. Still, i'm so used to using the triggers that a proper fix would be much apreciated if anyone can find one.

Man, I wish I had realized that. I struggled through the elevator fight without mega freeze thinking I had something wrong with my setup.

Possibly using an xpadder or joy2key config just to map the two triggers to buttons might do it.
