Sorry to hear you've found the controls to feel strange when using keyboard and mouse. Are you able to clarify if there's something in particular that doesn't seem to be working as it should?
In regards to setting up a controller with Prince of Persia, would you be able to let us know which actions aren't bound automatically? Could you let us know which gamepad you're using too?
Thank you.

sorry for taking so long to respond, in the case of the keyboard and mouse, some actions are binded to keys that (IMO) feel awkward, in the case of the gamepad, controlling the camera feels impossible, so much so i just gave up trying to get it to work and whenever i think i saw something, i just ignore it, because confirming it with a good look feels like a fool's errand, and the only action that has no bound is the bird's eye view, i am using an alambric xbox one controller.
I have already gotten used to the controls, but it's difficult to ignore the age sometimes
Sorry that you feel this way and we are happy to pass your feedback on.
Thank you.

The problem is that the game is using an external fan-made Steam controller configuration by default... and it's terrible! So, to solve your problem, do the following:
- First, plug-in/turn on your controller.
- Launch Steam Big Picture mode.
- Then, enter the Library, select the game (POP Sands of Time) and enter Manage Game (the little gear).
- Open Controller Configuration and select a different configuration, which would be GAMEPAD from TEMPLATES.
- Launch the game and configure the (gamepad) controls in-game. You can use a PS2 controller layout for inspiration. Google an image of it, it appears immediately.
- That done correctly, you'll notice you can't navigate the menu with your controller (nothing can be done about that), but you can play the game perfectly fine! The analog stick will let you move the Prince from slowly walking to running fast (as originally intended) and the right analog stick will now let you move the camera butter-smooth.
I advice doing the same for every game of the trilogy (Warrior Within and The Two Thrones will actually let you navigate the menus with your controller too!) I only have a very diminute problem with The Two Thrones, where the X axis on the first person view is inverted, but that's it... ah, and there's no rumble, but I don't remember if PC versions ever had that feature.
Good luck!
PS: Make sure to DISABLE the Desktop Controller Configuration too! It messes with the 3 games.
Already finished SOT, but i will make the change to the rest of the game, thanks
PS: you are telling me i could run this whole time? like apart from along walls and ♥♥♥♥?
Thanks for taking the time to share this detailed advice osricen, we appreciate it!
