Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

Water Effects Console vs PC?
So I'm trying to record footage of Sands of Time on PC, and after several tweaks, I got it running great on modern hardware.

However, the water looks horrific, far worse than the console versions on PS2/Xbox. I've read that there are some bugs people experience with the shader, including black water, but that's not what I'm seeing. I see the water, but it's really pixelated and fails to react to the player at all.

The console version has actual dynamic water simulation as players walk around in it. Is that exclusive to the console versions? If so, reminds me of the crappy water in Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow on PC vs PS2.

its broken on PC nobody ever fixed the water effects properly. That goes for the sequel Warrior Within as well, some water effects don't look as good as on PS2

I'm thinking it's not even "broken" but rather just a conscious decision by the development team responsible for the PC port. Something about the hardware on the PS2/Xbox at the time made it easier to render water that way than using the video cards from the early 2000s to do it. May reach out to some tech people and see if there's a more clear explanation
This is the same with kelly slater pro surfing on ps2 and gc vs pc. The pc had horrible water. It is what it is. But the gpu's could render it but not all developers did go into that.
