Thanks for your interest in the Sands of Time Remake!
The game is indeed now in development at Ubisoft Montréal but has also been delayed with no new date as of writing.
We have recently created an article with the current status of the game available here[www.ubisoft.com] for a little bit more information.
Hopefully we'll see the current status of the game in more detail soon and if there's anything more we can help with, please let us know!

Like it will ever come to Steam....
This I can agree with because the PS2 worked well, I'm guessing the PS3 one worked nicely as well. The pc ones run atrociously but then again as we have learned they don't like fixing the games, only really deleting them and their content for the game. I mean how many years have people waited for Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow, the people working on this new POP are those same people so I expect it to disappear like Pandora Tomorrow did.
Damn I am with you on that 100%, like I love how they put the really old POP in there like why not put the really old one and the original Sands Of Time in as well so peeps can see what it was like. It also needs proper controller control. I can't stand playing it on a keyboard. XD That just isn't a keyboard game for me.
