unlock 3D level of original Prince of Persia on PC (with keyboard)

I'm sure this info must be on here somewhere, but since I couldn't find it in a search, maybe this will help someone else.

The instructions for using a lever part way though the game to unlock the 3D original Prince of Persia game level don't appear to work for PC. But you can still access it. (BTW, these instructions are for keyboard, not sure what it would be for controller.)

Go to Start New Game, and when the prince is standing on the balcony, hold X, then hit: space, left mouse, e, c, e, space, left mouse, c.

That should open the short secret level.

I wasnt able to get it to work. (Edit: got it to work... you just have to make sure you do it fast enough)
