Defeating the Father was so hard!!! XD

It took me so many tries. You have to defeat the red guys 1st then the blue guys before you kill the Father. Healing water is down by the big windows at the end of the court by the way. God I hated that part lol.

If you played that and beat it do you agree? XD

Combat isn't the games strength, which is why I'm confused it has such a focus. You can do wall attacks and counter. The issue is that the game spawns more as soon as you kill some

Like OMG YES!!! I had to take down the red guys 1st then the Blue guys just to take out the father. It took me forever!!! XD

Dude it took awhile because I began on low health and didn't know what to do at 1st.

Adding to this necro thread that the father fight was obtuse. The game gives you tutorials non stop through the game and the foresight in the future about platforming, but the instructions on how to fight your Dad? Nah mate, none of that needed.

I must've missed the tutorial about counter-attacks too. I didn't even know they existed until I started spamming buttons.

Any future players reading this, clear the area first. Then deal with him alone. Either counter attack when you feel is right or wait for that massive reaching attack (where he really stretches to get you), side step it and then carve him up like a roast chicken.

Seriously, all you need to do is land one hit and he becomes a stun locked ♥♥♥♥♥.

its probably been a decade since I played the game, but the part that I recall giving me the most trouble is the elevator close to the end of the game.

So here I wanted to replay SoS on the steamdeck and I got stuck on this boss... After fighting him 1:1 for 20 minutes i thought "Ok, this is bugged - he just does not die" - I let myself get killed, tried again - 15 minutes later I gave up... I don't know if it's proton bug, or my save file, widescreen mod - but for me that boss is just invincible... All the other sand goons stop respawning and the "father boss" is the last one - then Farag completely stops helping - she does not shoot him and he does not attack her either - you can even use her as human shield, to block him from coming to you, while you take a sip of water...

Since i have not found anything about "father boss fight bugged" - then I guess it might be a proton related bug? 🤷‍♂️

I'm playing the vanilla game on SteamDeck currently and while I had the same troubles as OP regarding that fight, I could eventually kill the father, so it's definitely not bugged in general.
