Can not progress past the very first area

Just started the game. I can not go past the very first area. Every time I enter a room, the game soft locks.

Most of the screen goes black. The prince's sword remains, floating in space. Random arrows from the background keep getting shot, on fire. Landing nowhere.

I'm surpposed to walk to a balcony of some sort. But the game is completely locked. Can't pause. Can't even close the game, I have to log out of my computer manually, and log back in.

Help, please? I'd rather fix the problem then request a refund.

Nevermind. Turns out deleting the loading videos causes the game to soft lock. Maybe that's supposed to be common sense. But there was no warning about that from the PC Gaming website I saw! For the record, deleting the intro videos caused me no issues.

I got those video files back by verifying the game cache. Maybe I'll help someone in the future who starts deleting thigns willy nilly, like I did!
