Why this over War of Rights?
I just am wondering what the differences (if any) are that will sway me from my current Civil war Online PVP title.

Battle Cry of Freedom and War of Rights are entirely different games and I think it is pointless to compare the two games with another, just because they are both set in the Civil War.

WoR is hyperrealistic roleplay game.

Ummm... the fact they are both in the civil war is the EXACT reason to compare them. I think me and my team will pass though. Thanks. Have a great day!

If you read the steam page you will see several differences, one this is a 1st & 3rd person game. It has a melee system, a map maker and a random map generator, the biggest test for this game already reached over 200 players with no crashes, alot of weps to choose from, servers files will be released for everyone, and a uniform customizer, also stuff such as sappers,s urgeons(medics), musicians are in the game, more gamemodes then WOR (battle, conquest, tdm, siege, ctf and one or two more). Just alot more replayabilty value and more content

The uniforms customizer is awesome indeed, but I don't want to be able to place 20 different "72nd NY" banners on my canteen or knapsack, or placing my hat in 10 different spots...
I would like to have the option to play with and customize the tons of different uniform styles the civil war had to offer. Zouaves, Sack Coats, Frock Coats, Shell Jackets, Hardee Hats and such ;)

And if you compare with War of Rights, they feature a decent amount of uniform styles (over 120+ regiments?).

Yes, you will say that more uniforms and regiments will be added later in bcof, so will other stuff you mentioned above be added in War of Rights.

Exactly what I was looking for. Might end up on the old wishlist after all. Thanks! :)

From my conversations with WoR players, i doubt they will be adding in a lot of the above, or in the near future at least.(Who knows?) We already have the above in gideons post. Players will have a large variety of maps to play. Managing servers/events is a lot better than our previous game. You can tweak a large variety of settings to try and get the gameplay you want. If what others say is true, it is the best out of WoR or HF.

People will be able to host their own servers. You wont have to go to a single company. You could even run it on your own computer if you wished.

Most likely there will be cavalry, It'll be fun to properly fight as a cavalryman rather than spawning without a horse in war of rights. Plus I'm sure there will be voip
This plays more like Napoleonic Wars/North & South mod
BCoF has soul. WoR doesn't. The amount of content BCoF already has is amazing. WoR has been on the pot for too long.
This game looks like it'll be more of your average shooter but this time with a Civil War backdrop. Why anybody would pick any shooter (that can compare it to) over WoR is beyond me...

Where are you drawing this conclusion from ?

To add to this WOR only has a set amount of maps with only one gamemode played and limited admin & modding tools with no melee system. A suspension system and mostly one shot kills. I could name many other games like this
For one it seems like Battle Cry of Freedom has functioning artillery that doesn't slide up inclines on it's own and shells that glue themselves to your hands.

So is this more like a Holdfast genre?
