how to host own server?

I want to do a custom PvE coop with only a friend, how do I go about to host my own server?

Hi. You can find the dedicated server files in the tools section of your steam library. From there you can run the server. For your friend to connect to your server you will also have to port forward the ports in the server config file. Everyone's setup for that is different so you will have to research how to port forward on your own router.

What does it mean if your server shows up on the list but instead of a ping it has N/A instead?

I've spent hours failing to connect even myself to a private server.

It should work if you "direct connect" - simply put your internal IP address into the required field in game when connecting (will be probably something like 10.0.0.5:8262). Does work on my end. Hope that helps.

(Might as well be that you need to open/forward the 8262 and 8263 ports on your router to do it the normal way.)

Thank you, I will try. I have opened the ports listed but for whatever reason cannot find a way to port forward anything in my router settings.

I'll be happy just test my custom map with some bots to check pathfinding
