Battle cry of freedom problem with racists

Hey,
I'm a huge fan of war of rights ( cobb's legion arty) and have surley +100h. I will surley buy this game, but there's something bothering me. Since you'll be allowed to have a black preset, won't it have the same problem with the troll and racist like in war of rights?

Black Characters are only playable in USCT Regiments or other Black regiments.

Cheers. So how does the ban! Admin tools work?

You open the Admin Tools panel, select the player you want to ban and click ban.

Alternatively you can click on the player in the scoreboard and click on Admin, which will give you a set of actions available, click on ban and done.

Alternatively alternatively you can press right shift + U, which will allow you to click on a player on your screen, and give you that same list of actions.

Alternatively alternatively alternatively, you can spawn a Ban Hammer using the Admin tools and hit the guy in the face with it, which will also ban him.

I played War of Rights too but stopped because of the horrible racism and huge amount of anti semitism that i experienced. (When i spoke against a few guys talking about the evil jews ruining things i was laughed at by the whole server) and im happy to see some of these cry babies ranting that the admins ban people for racism. So my hope is, that they try to keep the community on the better side. I mean even the naming of the game is better than WoR which clearly takes a Lost Cause narrative point as its title and therefore ponders to the followers of it.

This entire thread seems like virtue signalling. Racists end up getting ostracised in any community or game, or ignored. It's not even an issue. Only ever find obnoxious people like genuine racists on old and near dead games.

No doubt just people who were trolling or memeing during the demo but I didn't see any of that and played quite a bit of the demo. Im sure the same can be said in war of rights, especially given the setting of these games. Not sure how jews fit into it tho, but you'll find people bashing any religion anywhere you go.

Im sorry but it was not bashing but talk about how "The nazis did the right thing" and "today they are still a vermin" etc. The wording were long rants and about current politics (2021) This went on for minutes uncontested. Trust me i do dark jokes with my friends too but i saw in War of Rights these situations a few times. So im happy that these creators and moderators have a harsher stance against it.

It is an odd thing. Any historical game makes people roll play the bad guys. I saw a black guy shouting kill the Ns playing and roll playing as a confederate. Same thing in WW2 games, people will roleplay nazis and scream about killing the jewish people. Should be some kind of study done on this.

Just to chime in, you'll find the mods are pretty active about warning and banning people for racism / general bad behavior. There are several threads about this you can read, so if you are worried about encountering this, just know some mods out there have your back.. Yes, you're gonna see and hear it, but it gets shut down pretty quick in my experience (not sure on the Fed side though since I only play Union).

One thing I did notice on this point, was later in the night, I think the mods might have been asleep or away, but as more of the world woke up and started their game time, um, the racism really spiked and took a very different tone between East and West, I guess. Like there was a looooot more going on and it was pretty much unchecked. So may be a need for mods in different time zones to keep things clean, if possible.

Who the hell finds the time to do this on a game like this? Do they just sit at spawn? lmao. Haven't seen anything like that myself, and can't imagine who would start a conversation like this with some random dude in a game like this, theres more appropriate places to talk about whatever politics people want.

Still, id say just ignore them or if its a player run dedicated server, get the admins to make them take it elsewhere. Personally I don't care what random people talk about I just call them cringe and hope they shut up. Id be more bothered if it was in a "community" I was in tho. The only stuff I saw admins do was being anti-fun, and dealing with a few griefers.

Cause it's funny and theres gotta be some bad guys to fight. Doesn't mean they believe that stuff irl or that anyone should care. Same reason why people have so much love for the Empire in star wars to the point of having tattoos of their symbols and wearing merchandise with them on it, or dressing up as stormtroopers for chairty children events and people even larp as imperials, and so on. These guys cleanse entire planets of life, genocide of levels we have never seen in our world, and are genuine actual racists with racist policies against non-humans. If people can get excited about that, I see no problem with people memeing as a confederate.

The only thing I find a bit annoying is in some games you get wheraboo larpers. Doesn't offend me or something, just usually pretty cringe. You can get all kinds of weirdos for better or worse on historical themed games.

I came so close to supporting their Kickstarter, really glad I didn't
