Assassin and Ninja Class are really weak :/

I unlocked ninja class as soon as I could with anima shards. It's so disappointing. I have to use a item selection wheel every time I want to use the class's main ability. It's not efficient in middle of a battle.

I unlocked assassin next because ninja just felt too weak and gimmicky. Assassin is slightly better than ninja but still too glass cannon. The mark and assassinate doesn't even work on some boss fights.

I had way more fun on thief than I am doing on ninja and assassin. I feel like sword and magic users got the most love from devs.

Any advice for using ninja and assassin?

I think both jobs benefit a lot from the benefits they gain through the DLC's. Ninja needs some int to make his stuff hurt, assassin can proc his ability for free and with the right weapon and a high amount of agi + luck that can inflict quite a lot of hurt, but again, it requires quite some investment which you'll unlock only through playing the DLC's.

I see a lot of high end builds run Ninja, so it's definitely not a bad job, but it can be a bit underwhelming right out of the gate. Same for assassin, it can be pretty strong, but since it scales with crit, which you probably don't have a lot of yet, it seems a bit lacking.

Assassinate works on all enemies. It's just free damage. Imagine you're recovering your gauge or going to pick up an ally. You pop the marks and there you go. It's free damage/free break damage while you do other things. It doesn't stagger or anything, but free damage is free damage and the best part, it can be stacked with other things. Like Hitting with a gun to get the marks and then chain shotting+assassinating etc.

You can select what you want before you run into a fight and it’ll stay selected for the next time you tap the trigger. Scope out what is ahead of you, pick the element and cancel casting, then run in.

ninja is the best secondary class in the game
i recommend you check guide online because they are definitely not weak at all

Yeah Ninja is one of the best support classes in the game. I wouldn't call it the best because Gambler can be potentially better, but Gambler requires more work into it to be useful as support.

The wheel you complain about is how ALL magic works. You select what you want, and you say magic users got the most love? The wheel, at first, takes some getting used to, but everything is always in the same exact spot.. So it's not hard to memorize it and you then get quicker at using it mid fight. However, ninja isn't really about popping those constantly in the middle of a fight. It's more utility as is how ninja typically plays in Final Fantasy.
