I enjoyed the game, but is DLC worth it? Heard people say its just the base game just a bit harder?
Is that true? Is there nothing new other than classes and staff/gun? I really enjoyed the game, played on hard solo with no companions for more of a challenge, but I'm hearing the DLC is just the same thing. Also I have to complete on Chaos before I can do the DLC apparently?

DLC add new class , new game mechanics , more gears , more build variation , new game mode ( dragon trial and rift )

the base game just feel like a storyline + tutorial

and it goes that way : base game 200 -> chaos 300 limit release + artifact -> bahamut 400 +new class + dragon trial + higher limit release -> gilgamesh 500 new class + rift game mode + summon monster + blessing + higher limit release + unidentify artifact

DLC opens up a breadth of build possibilities and the bosses will have altered and new attack patterns.

Location wise and the actual enemy models, you're going to largely see the same things.

Where all three of the DLC story combined could be as short as 4 hours without Extra Mode with a number of weapons or jobs or survival methods. Or could take a first-time no guide, no co-op player dozens of hours getting acclimated with the power curve and bosses. And if you're into trying different builds and realizing those while progressing optional content or trying different gameplay, several hundreds of hours await.

If you find that you're enjoying Chaos difficulty, sitting at job level 99, item level 300, and clearing content fairly well, and have been trying out other ways to play post-credits - you would be a strong DLC candidate.

Else, would say the base game is a good stopping point. Especially if you have things in your backlog you'd like to get to.

Thanks for the info guys. What do you gain by levelling classes after 30? Just advanced points? And do you only have to complete the missions that give rewards like "limit release"? Or should I do everything again before the DLC. I noticed some are just crystals playing on CHAOS.

Its a gear grinding game where you grind gear to fight harder fights.

If you like that gameplay loop, get it.
