You're not playing a protagonist. You're playing a villain.
Can't seem to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ win at all apparently...
People whinged because every FF protag (except VI's Terra) from 1 through to 12 was a pretty boy male. So they made Lightning a kickass no-nonsense warrior. People complained and whined that it's too feminine.. So XV was OOPS ALL BROS... And people complained.
In XVI we're finally getting a protagonist that's over the age of 21! Clive will be playable in his teens, twenties, AND thirties. No other FF protag has had that. They've all been 16-21.
so now your spoiling the twist of the game you like?
are you sure you like it?
Short hair for combat efficiency.
Blond hair to slay.
A cute smile.
Rough and tough when he has to be.
Skips cutscenes for you.
Listens to Nu Metal.
What more do you want?
A better personality.
Hm, I doubt complete dialogue, voice and facial animation overhauls will come anytime soon, buddy.
oh you're that type of fanboy, Spoils yourself by seeing after gameplay Dev footage.
The entire story is your character figuring this out, its suppose to be a surprise.
At the start of the game You are told to FIND garland. because he went missing.
good lord did you even play the game you say you like?
because every single person ever, played the original 1987 Final fantasy you are correct. /s
I'm gonna have to pause you here for a moment.
I skipped the trailers and media. Others may only see the store page and see Final Fantasy and press Buy.
And even playing FF1, I initially thought Oh! Is this a reboot of Final Fantasy 1 as an action game? Or on the Warrior of Light tale the way that Mobius did? Neat!
And I genuinely did not suspect he was supposed to be Garland, at all until Sarah asked him for his last name. I hate that SE marketing spoiled it for many since the component of FF1 story + their trailer would easily let you connect two together versus just thinking it's some Arthur Fleck Joker standalone origin story.
So the hope that others can have a "Whaaaaat? Whoa~~~" reaction. I preface with "spoilers ahead", I use the spoiler tags, or I just don't bring that part up or clarify it. Granted, my post history may be a mine field.
