STUCK game freezes

game freezes when i am talking to the next door neighbour through the window..i can swap characters but when i come back it just freezes..no response..help from anyone would be great as i am surprised how much i like the story

Hi! Sorry for this issue. We've made lots of improvements and tweaks with the new patch and so it seems a bug surfaced at that point (which wasn't here before).

Could you please just describe a bit more in detail? It would help us to identify the bug more quickly. You talked to Vera for the first time (after knocking on her window)? And then immediately after that you switched to Nikolay, and then after returning back to Benedek the game just stopped? Have you clicked on something after return back to Benedek or the game stopped immediately after coming back to him?

hi..thanks for getting back to me...I love the game...its great.....after speaking to vera through the window the game froze..but i realised i could then click on the other character and carry on the story with him. Then when that story thread finishes and you go back to the first character talking to vera through the window it is frozen the cursor still moves but no response when you click on the clickable areas. i went back to a previous save 3 times but when the dialogue with vera through the window finishes i always get the same problem..thanks

Hmm, very weird. We tried recreating the bug but we couldn't. Could you please send us your save file? It would help us to speed up the process of identifying and fixing the bug.

The save files are in the directory: C: > Users > Name > AppData > LocalLow > Red Martyr > Saint Kotar > Saves. Each save game is a separate file. Just find the right one and send it over to us via email at: [e-mail]

If you manage to send the save file in the next couple of hours, we might be able to fix it and push a patch immediately today. Thank you! :)

Marko at Red martyr has been very helpful with this problem. I sent him the game save and he was able to move the game past its sticking point and send a new save back to me which has allowed me to progress with the game which i am really enjoying..thanks Marko

I am also stuck at the window where you talked to the old lady. The only thing I can do is picking the bible but I can't use it with anything. Can you please elaborate how I have to edit the save file to be able to progress?

According to the save game both characters should be able to move:

```

But I can't even switch from Benedekt to Nikolay.

Hi! You can pick up the Bible? You mean, the crucifix? The Bible is always in the inventory, from the beginning. Or you mean, perhaps, that you can open the inventory and click on the Bible item to use it but you can't since no hotspot is available to you.

We exchanged some emails with Smithereens01 and found out that he has been playing the game on Windows 11, which is not supported yet. Also, the game freezes when a video cutscene is played - not immediately after the video, but only once the whole flow (conversation, or comments) gets to the end, at the moment when the player should get the character control back.

You've sent us an email and we'll send you back the save game with Benedek being unstuck. We're responding here to allow other players to see what's going on when this happens.

Yes, I can choose the bible from my inventory and that seems all I can do.

Like mentioned over the email, Linux is the problem in this case. We're working to bring the game to Mac OS and Linux soon, and even though it is possible to run the game right now on both of them in different ways, it may cause issues like this one you are experiencing. Our goal is to release the official Mac and Linux versions before summer.

I have the same issue. I talked to Vera the first time. When I click on "I have to go" nothing happens. The music is still playing and the character moves a bit. I can only click on him and take the bible. No Hotspots to see. I can not change character or open the main menu. I am playing on Windows 7 64 bit.
