what am I doing wrong?

Okay, so.. I decided to do a game walkthrough for a future romance for Gloria when book two comes on steam. On my first run through, I chose a decision that gave 1 lust to Katie and the rest was trust, thinking that one was no big deal. However. towards the end of book 1, during the Gloria/Katie conversation they have, it still implied a romantic interest towards Katie. I was like, "well, ♥♥♥♥.". So, I deleted and did a new run on the mindset of: "all trust, no lust" mentality. and, even than, it still insinuates a romance path. And yes, both attempts I chose the "Keep it friendly" option. and, both times, Gloria got a balance of 4 trust, 3 lust. Not sure what I am doing wrong here to imply a romance towards Katie instead of Gloria. I know that there is no romance/lewd scenes with Gloria in book 1. So, I wasn't expecting Gloria to say she thinks I like her.. I was expecting something like her showing some interest. Is there something I missed? any advice would be helpful.

Note: in my first run through, I fell head over heels for Katie the moment I saw her and plan to do another run through with her as a romance again...just with slightly different choices. So, I don't want anyone thinking I dislike Katie. I just wanted to a second romance path and Gloria is a very big curiosity. Mainly since I think most of her story will be in book two.

There is a very good free to view guide under the guides tab above which walks you through each chapter and scene to get either Score or Lust points through out. There is a way to get Gloria up to high number while still having a romance with basically every other girl in the story.

That would be an interesting story. I think it will be more of her being the foundation of rewriting equality.

The only mistake you're making is calling score, trust.
High score with LI means more than just getting their trust. LI with high score like MC in all aspects and romantic relationship can be built purely on it.
Lust, I think, only opens sexual content (which score can sometimes open as well). LI with High Lust (in my view) sees MC only as an attractive sexual partner, not as a potential love interest.

I certainly hope THAT isn't the ending since it would mean that all the other characters achieved in trying to protect her would be worthless. Having Gloria sacrifice herself to save the people who were only in trouble because they were trying to save her would be the ultimate betrayal of their efforts.

That ending would simply make everything pointless. I certainly hope that isn't where this is headed.

Just to point out I've had a similar issue with Katie. Although I was (and still am, actually) going for Ellen instead of Gloria. At least you, OP, can take it as Gloria trying to distance herself from you, though I admit it's far-fetched. But considering Gloria can read minds or whatever hints she gets, and her relationship with Ellen, why the hell would she be such a dumb busybody right after Ellen disappeared, presumed dead...

So just like you, I've started over, making sure I wasn't too nice with Katie. But that still wasn't freaking enough, and I had to start again, this time going out of my way to displease Katie. At least I found out quiet early that I was on the "right" path: when we're ambushed in Katie's clinic and I didn't lose my cool.

I have been thinking that from what I have read in the walkthrough, If I at least get 3 trust with Katie than be an ass (or neutral) towards here until the time to break into her old job, and get the 4th trust point than, (in order for her to crawl through the air duct) perhaps my emotions won't get misread. As for Gloria, my assumption is that she is using empath abilities. Empath is a term for someone who is psychic towards emotions only. So, it is possible for her to get mixed singles on who I was vying for.

I have yet to try this path as of right now. Taking a small break first and still deciding on whether or not to pick up the patreon version of CoBD. If I only knew when book two was going to be released.....

From experience, I know it will only be worse for me, if I get more content but only a spoonful of it now and then. I read some novels online, and they're usually updated every day, but that's definitely not my thing. I'd rather binge read a hundred chapters of one novel, then find another to wait for a while, than read 1 chapter of many novels every day.

About Gloria's power though, I found it funny when she explained how she couldn't read minds, but it was as you say. I mean, how the heck does that explain how she guessed Katie's name?

I think there was something said about her dreams.. Kind of like the dreams the MC was having that somehow linked to Gloria's past. And, from what we've seen at the end of book one, she has a lot of power. Could be that the mind reading is an untapped power that can only occasionally be used sub-consciously.

Wait how did you delete, I go into game files and delete the saves but when I load back up they are still there.

So based on what is known on various unnamed sites, certain people are going to die, and certain people are going to live (second book) Gloria is not a person by the end of book one. She is a symbol. While I think it would be somewhat creepy to have an actual scene with Gloria (as she is easily young enough to be our daughter, then again so are Chandra and Abby- and I think a scene with Abby is much more likely)

Gloria is not really going to be an attainable love interest I think. I think her feelings towards us will establish whether she saves us at the end or not. Philly does not have a problem in killing off any character including the main character, so I think it is more likely that the god like Gloria will decide our survival dependent on her feelings towards us.
