1920x1080 not possible?
Anyone knows if there's a fix? I cannot choose anything higher than 1280x720.

Steam\Steamapps\Common\Splinter cell- Double agent\SCDA-Offline\System\SplinterCell4.ini ??

You need to open and edit the SplinterCell4.ini config file. Just make sure the file properties are NOT set to 'Read-Only'. First Right-click the file, go to properties, and look for the file attributes. If the file is marked as 'Read-only', then uncheck it. You Must have full ADMIN rights under Win 7, to do any task.

Open this cfg file with Notepad, and look for the following heading/lines::

[WinDrv.WindowsClient]
WindowedViewportX=
WindowedViewportY=
FullscreenViewportX=1920
FullscreenViewportY=1080

Just enter your desired RES values inside the FullscreenViewportX/Y lines, and save the file. You can again mark it as 'Read-Only'.

There is one more file, which you may need to edit, to alter the FOV values depending on your Monitor's Aspect Ratio (4:3, 16:10, 16:9). The file should be SplinterCell4User.ini. Open this file and change the FOV values as given below, depending on the Aspect ratio:

4:3
[Engine.PlayerController]
DesiredFOV=75.0
DefaultFOV=75.0

16:10
[Engine.PlayerController]
DesiredFOV=85.281271852212
DefaultFOV=85.281271852212

16:9
[Engine.PlayerController]
DesiredFOV=91.315448228736
DefaultFOV=91.315448228736

I have a problem too with this game, maybe you can help me? ;)

"Have been looking for a saved starting where I last left off.
But i can´t load any save i find.."
Varg Jun 12, 2013 @ 1:57pm
Do you find the savegame? What does it say when you try to load?
NoVem Jun 12, 2013 @ 2:00pm
Cant find save game, in "load game".
But now i have the answer! run: %programdata% and go to Ubisoft. (Win7)

Hey, everytime I try to save my changes that I made on the SplinterCell4.ini it says, do you want to replace and I say yes, then says access denied. Help? I am admin on my system and it is not read only.

I tried this method, but unfortunately the game just doesn't start. I can make it start by changing

WindowedViewportX=
WindowedViewportY=
to
WindowedViewportX= 640
WindowedViewportY= 480

but once I try to start the game from there it crashes due to some runtime error. Anyone know why?

someone come and play?

hekokiyama: I see that the two lines you mention are right above the fullscreen resolution specifications. Are you running your game in Windowed mode as suggested by the code you edited, or are you running fullscreen? You might check SplinterCell4User.INI to see if there are possible display conflicts, for instance, FOV specs might be for an aspect ratio you aren't running (one or two pages before this thread a guy gives FOV specs for different aspects in a 1920•1080 problem). Two possible crash causes might be eliminated by ensuring DirectX and C++ runtime libratries are updated.

Hi guys, i have a blinking/flickering screen bug with the 1920x1080 updates in the ini file. I have made the changes, tried to run in compatibility mode for XP, disable the desktop composition, but nothing happened. Any ideas? System: i3 with a 840M, fresh updates
Lumi Nov 6, 2015 @ 5:00pm
what do you mean by "disable the desktop composition" ?
scda tends to have issues when you try to run it on a multi-display setup.
so your best bet would be to disable all other monitors in the windows display settings.

alternatively you can try to make the flickering stop by pressing ctrl+alt+del and then esc to cancel. techincally alt-tabbing should work too. however the game wont let you tab out in some situations.

I have this problem too. Modifying the .ini file just makes the game crash on launch with a nice little runtime error message. Sigh I guess I have to play with the 1280x720 resolution. It looks like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ps2 game with this resolution. It is ugly as ♥♥♥♥ but it's the only way to play.

I managed to get the error messages to stop but it still seems to be running at 720p resolution instead of 1080p, because the graphics is blurry and has lots of jagged edges. I have put all the correct values to the .ini files and set them to read only but apparently it has no effect. Looks like this game is yet another badly made console port by Ubisoft.
