"New Gen" version seems rushed compared to old gen?
I've played the "New gen" version countless times now and I remember having the old gen version on xbox years ago and only played to the first JBA HQ mission and this version of DA seems really rushed? I remember the old gen Iceland mission was 2 / 3 seperate missions that took a fair amount of time to do whilst I just completed it on here in 11 minutes without rushing since I haven't played it in 2 or so years, anyone completed the old gen version and think it's better and which one is more accurate to the continuation of the story in conviction? (I've completed all SC games so don't worry about spoilers)

The Next Gen version of Double Agent (360, PS3, PC) is technically the canon story that Conviction goes with, albeit mostly because the characters and story of the Old Gen (PS2, Xbox, Gamecube) doesn't really appear in later entries.

The Next Gen version of the game is definitely rushed out; the bugs, glitches, repetition, inferior stealth, etc. support that. However, I personally think that the Old Gen version of the game is superior gameplay-wise (it's both developed by the same people who made Chaos Theory and extends its design to that), whereas the New Gen version is superior in its story (it's less black-and-white and has more morally complex scenarios that weighs a lot of impact).

I think they're both good in their own ways, and share general similarities that Conviction loosely continues the story by.

Certain aspects of the story in the "New Gen" version never really made any sense to me, in the beginning of Double Agent we see Fisher escape the silo where the missile almost launched, but immediately he gets in the helicopter and Lambert tells him the news about his daughter out of nowhere. However, in the "Old Gen" the presentation of Lambert breaking the news to Fisher made a whole lot more sense. He tells fisher to get out of the facility, Fisher refuses and proceeds to attempt to finish the mission objectives; but then Lambert says, "something happened." and then says, "It's your daughter." That alone made Fisher bail out of the mission, and then he got the news about what had happened. I still prefer the "New Gen" of Double Agent, but I do wish the old version was on Steam as well.
