Should you be raising affinity with multiple characters?
So, I've basically been pairing up 2 characters with each other permanently as they will always have high bonuses from affinity and link attacks that way, but I'm wondering if there is a reason to have affinity among multiple characters other than having new scenes and dialogue options.

I like having multiple affinities so I can mix and match my lineup to be best suited to the situation at hand. Some characters have particularly powerful support effects that you might want to be able to pair with all three weapon types. Characters can also be injured, necessitating having backup options. Plus, I like seeing each relationship arc!

yeah you should and make sure they all intermingle so you can swap more freely, later on the enemy spams injury, fear, and depressed attacks so if you only have 3x 1-1 relationship it would be a sticky situation because the support effect and skill link could change the tide especially if you aim for no soul cannon run

plus i dont see much use for the AP, expedition and scrap fishing is quite unnecesarry if you always go dangerous route. cooking is only worth it on bossfights, famring can be done sparsely, sleeping only when you ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up,

If you haven't started already, the game will more or less makes it mandatory when you get into later chapters. There will be lots of enemy formations that you won't be able to just brute force your way through without getting really lucky, and your best bet is to make use of changing your party up to make the most use of delays and to keep everyone healthy. Not to mention it's a very bad thing when you're relying on a few crew members, only to have them get depressed/knocked out and you don't have a plan B.
