I did notice there's an Approval improvement I can build, called a Maintenance Hub or it was something like that. It seems relatively good for Approval... is the idea that Nyx/synthetics are supposed to build this improvement, and Entertainment Districts are just removed for them?
Also, I was curious about the bug you mentioned relating to the Computational Core, so in my game I just tried deleting the Core and immediately rebuilding it via rushing - but that didn't fix it. (Though I did temporarily lose and regain access to many buildings/districts, while the Core was gone).
I say "fix it", but maybe it's not a bug? Maybe this is intended? Have you personally (or anyone else who's reading) played Nyx recently, and found you could build Entertainment Districts?
And yup, I did test it in a new game, and rush building the Computational Core did grant me access to the entertainment district. I've forwarded the issue!
It's especially strange because I also just tried starting a new game, rush building a Core in that one, and I have the exact same situation again and cannot build the entertainment districts. I wonder why this is happening in my GC4 but not yours.
Just tried unsubscribing from all my custom factions on the workshop, re-verifying again, still doesn't work. (This is the only custom content I had, factions which people have made using the species pack).
I think I should also comment on something totally unrelated, just another weird thing which lends credence to this idea that my version of GalCiv 4 is just corrupt somehow. I don't see all of the technologies in the technology library - like upcoming ones, which you could get by unlocking the final culture point in an ideology. So Glorious Legacy from Traditionalism and Co-ordinated Travel from Totalitarianism, for instance, cannot be located in the tech library anywhere. I remember, when I played this game last year, I could see all of these techs in the library the whole time.
The only thing that has happened to my game in the intervening months is the DLCs Megastructures and Tales of the Arnor were added to it, because I was on the game-pass.
I think I will come back after another few updates and maybe things will just run differently? Thanks for your time so far though.
I mean one more thing you could do is rename this folder %userprofile%\Documents\My Games\GalCiv4 and start fresh on that front as well, but I don't see how that would lead to your issue to begin with.
So the only changes I'm aware of happening to my version of game since I played it last year (when it seemed to run okay), are Megastructures and then Tales of the Arnor becoming activated at the end of 2024 because of that expansion pass. It might not matter, though? Ok, I'll try that folder renaming trick now, thanks :)
The Yor game I just started also doesn't have that weird issue I was having where certain technologies aren't showing up in the Technology Library.
