Note that a new game is needed to experience these. Also, not all bugs can be fixed through modding. Ship templates issues for example are hard if not impossible for us to fix through modding.
Bugs:
The Ships, which can capture other ships do not work (as fleet choosen with the race). You make a whole game around it, spend a lot of hours and only to discover that the capture ships obsolutely do not work. This bug is very old.
Multiple buildings say they improve every planet, which they do not!
The gigamass nexus augments says +30 to diplomacy, but they do nothing.
Depending on the map size and settings I can choose much more players, than I have at the real game.
These are only the bugs I remember when thinking 2 minutes. Unfortunately there are many more.
And due to the fact that old bugs are still not fixed, I do not want to waste my time and do a bug report for each bug, if noone cares.
Some of the mods (MBC labeled ones) do fix those actually. Still, if you have specific examples, listing them here would be helpful. We can always mod fix those easily too.
First time I hear about this one being bugged. We'll have to investigate!
Yeah, if I understand what you mean correctly that one is a known recent bug which is fixed by one of the mods: BugFix_UP_SingularMapGeneration. Devs have already acknowledged it and I would expect a fix pretty soon following the holiday break.
If what you meant is that you have more possible AIs slots then civilization available, then that is not a bug. You can make custom civilization and they will appear in the list you can add as AIs.
I can assure you that the devs here do care, a lot! Any and all bug reports are cataloged and added to the bug list of things to fix. They are a very small team though and things get prioritized.
Speaking from experience, bugs do get fix. I've seen a lot of the bug that we had fixed through modding getting included in the base game. And bugs that we couldn't fix ourselves were also addressed. So there is hope! It just may take a tad longer then we'd prefer.
I am software engineer myself, and I know some bugs are very hard to find, but a bug which always happens, should not be of that category.
New bug report:
With the new DLC the "Ideology Discount" is no longer working.
The culture I choose for my race used to have a discount. Now it has "Event choices -25 %". So no discount at all.
The diplomacy problem with the nexus augment might be, that I do not understand what it should do:
Cosmic Courthouse should do: +15 Diplomacy, +50 Diplomatic Capital Income
But what does "+15 Diplomacy" mean? I definetly do not get a bonus, which is shown with the other relationship bonuses/maluses. (which I can understand, since +15 would be a very big bonus, and +45 would mean I can do whatever I like and all races would still be very happy with me.)
Thats what I mean.
I have plenty of races. My playtime is 793 hours.
Many of them can't be completed since the next phase never triggers.
Crazy they put out multiple dlc but don't bother to fix the bugs.
First I leard of this one I can look into that.
Please post specific examples.
DLCs had a release date when they were part of the Expansion Pass. There is 1 more DLC that is part of the recent expansion pass. Devs are required to meet those release dates. With each DLC there have been many bug fixes. However they have to be prioritized and the team is small.
Many issues also dont get fixed because the quality of the bug report. For instance, "Fix the Galactic quests too." "make the interface a little bit better " doesn't tell you much. Some bug reports is lack of understanding of game mechanics, others aren't easy to replicate, or have a lot of emotion that its hard to know what is being reported.. If you have an issue if you can post a save, steps to reproduce, and a clear description of the issue.More information is better.
The devs are listening either way and are reading each report and making a best guess on the matter.
What has been shared is the true issue maybe identified and fixed but will require QA to test it. Soon can sometimes take a while. But for now there is the mod.
