Eyes of the Universe
I have the EotU but it didn't show me the other AI capitals. Has this been modified in some way?

Thanks I was able to replicate this in a way. The capitals do appear. However, you need to be at the right zoom level which is just about when the galaxy graphic appears. If you zoom out even further they will disappear.

I will bring this up to the community team.

I just tested it now and it worked fine. Make sure your zooming at the right level. If you zoom out too far you won't see the homeworld icons. You gotta zoom about mid way out to see the icons of the AI capitals.

It worked for me also

Also you need to go to next turn for many things to show just like extra speed to ships thru promotion or tech does not take effect till the next turn

Darn Devs whet and fixed the ship movement delay.
So ignore the advice I gave appears it may be outdated

After the latest update with Megastructures the the capital icons seem much smaller now so they are harder to see. The zoomed out view also seems to be much brighter and the capitals just blend in IMO. I also found that the sectors are spread out more now because I think they want you to experiment with the gateways.

Yeah this was my problem the icons were there but I wasn't seeing them...

I'm also having a problem with the Eyes of the Universe. It is plausible that the player can only see the AI players in the adjacent sectors?

Playing in a large galaxy for the first time, and I'm only seeing 3 of the 15 opponents.

Zoom to mid and then look carefully. The icons are tiny.

Tried that, and it didn't help (yes, I read all of this thread, before posting).

Starting to see more capitals, as I expose my subspace pathways.

Suspecting that the Eyes of the Universe building only shows the capitals in the sectors that the player can reach with a probe. (Since I posted the question, 2 more sectors showed up, each with a civilization.

The work around for now is zoom out as far as you can so you can still see stars on the galaxy map. Then tilt the camera. It's a little awkward but will work for now. I'll post a screenshot shortly.

Much of the problem is the sectors can appear very far from the center of the map. Which I'll also report because it can be very difficult to see everything at a glance

  1. What hot key enables tilting of the galactic view?
  2. #1 aside, I've inspected every part of the galaxy. Those capitals do show up, after the subspace gateway is located ... or at least one to the closer adjoining sector. Doubt I'm just seeing the missing capitals.
  3. Tried to take a screen shot with <F12>, and that's not working either.

Frustrating because I never had this issue with the medium size galaxy. Of note, one sector is almost pressed up against mine, while 2 others seem like they are on the other side of the galaxy.

1. I hold down the middle mouse button.

My middle mouse button acts a right click. That aside, the Eyes of the Universe wasn't the culprit ==> There is a bug in the galaxy creation code.

In my case, enough I requested 15 opponents, only got 5, which Eyes of the Universe, showed.

The fix is to get one of Draver's mods. (Had tried 18 galaxy creations, asking for either 15 of 19 opponents in a large galaxy. Most of the time, only 8 or 9, as verified by the listplayers & fownc cheat commands.

But thanks for chiming in.

I can confirm the "bug" (or feature?). With another civ, I built the EotU and at first it only showed two other capitals, those of civs I had contacted. When I contacted a third, its capital appeared on the map.
