Range of AI Ships..?
In my present game I have one of the AI that has ships flying all over my start sector. I have not yet found them in their start sector, and one of the relation notes on the Diplomacy Screen says they are friendly because I am Outside of their ship range...

How is it possible for them to even be there if I am Beyond Their Travel Range??

Are they probes? Probes don't have a range limit.

For this it helps if you have a savefile so we can see what is going on. But even the player is able to go outside of the ship range as well. First, are you sure they are out of their ship range? The AI at higher difficulties has extended ship range.

Range in the GalCiv series is a limit on what destinations you can select not what tiles you can travel through. This is important because some mechanics like wormholes can push you well beyond your ship range and you don't want them immediately stuck.

You can also take advantage of this. Let's say the AI is outside your ship range. You have a wormhole generator artifact. Build a constructor and use the wormhole generator. Let's say it teleported your fleet on the opposite side of their territory. You can build a starbase and now travel through their territory. Unless their tiles are within your ship range you wont be able to move to any specific tile but you can travel to a tile within range of your new starbase.

No, Combat Ships.

@Illauna; The ship range says 87 or so, and I have not found any Colony planets they might have gotten from Artifacts or Anomalies yet. (That did happen in an earlier game I played)

Again, if you can post a save file it will help. However, its range of any colonies or starbases. I am not aware of any known issues with ship range other than what I explained above.

@rdouglass1

For some reason Valve stepped in and nuked your post but that is not a proper save file. You can share the file on the discord.

I have never been able to Join Discord. I will try the Save again.

I set the file to be available to anyone that has the Link.

So the only faction saying they are happy to be out of range and technically in range is the Arceans. Technically they are at the fringes of your space. I see zero of their ships in your space. They are within range of Deep Space Starbase 14.

The following cheat commands are used:
fownc - clear the fog of war from the map but dont get first contact spam
listplayers - get the player ID
localplay n - n is the player id from the command above

What I usually do is save the game when something is odd and continue the game. Then after I clear the map I go through my saves if there is something odd. I do this to not spoil the game with cheats.

I dont see the Yor or Corporate Sector have explored your space.

Oh I see the problem. I reported this the other day. I think you mean the Xeloxi. They are for some reason able to see all pirates and target them with their Enlist Pirate fleet ability. This is something devs need to look into and I believe is unintended. Their ships likely can only return home though.

AAAHHH!! I did not even look at who it was, I just saw they were Green, and could fly all over.

Thanks.

THIS HAS BEEN DRIVING ME NUTS!
Ive been meaning to ask about it- in early game they have end game ships (dreadnoughts?) sitting right on top of the red anomalies- I used wormhole artifact to clear one of them off the anomaly, it worked, but what about the Xeloxi themselves? Beginning of the game and I can see a bunch of dreadnaughts in ships list when I trade with them lol

This the Precursor Guardians of the Red Anomalies has been discussed on Dicord and maybe here and is IMHO a design flaw they are not Pirates and should not be subject to assimilation.
Red Anomalies have been a royal pain since Epic Early Access and need to have a very close look at
