Please explain the symbols on the Trade button
I know i can click that button and buy things but what do the icons with numbers in them that are actually 'in" the Trade button itself represent and how did they get there?

another point of confusion regarding the same button. you know how you can multiple click on say a Luxury good among the items that sit to the lower left of the large Trade button? You can "pick up" those resources then click them into your city. well, you can click them into the Trade button but none of the numbers/icons I mentioned in the first paragraph above change nor when I open the Trade window do I see what I just "clicked in". hope you follow that but where did those resources go?

also, do the numbers/resources that are actually shown ON the Trade button refer to or correlate at all with the numbers/resources that appear in the display that opens up ("the trade window") when you click the Trade button?

haven't seen any posts from the developer in a while so i hope they pay some attention to this forum and not spend all their time on discord. might be busy with Kickstarter but that met its goal a couple of days ago. anyway, please explain what all those icons/numbers are that are ON the trade button. cons are very small, i can't make them out at all unless i use a magnifying glass! maybe on mouse over after a 1 second delay could show a tool tip? maybe? thanks

EDIT

after playing again and watching things it seems the icons represent what's available in the market place once you expand it and the number withing the icon is how many of that item are available for sale. is this right? in the "Trade Circle" the wheat (or is that corn?) icon represents ALL foods (cow, pigs), correct. and the wine goblet (?) represents things like salt and wool. what are those called?

and i am still confused about what i am doing when i click on say 2 of my Science resources then click the Trade Circle. i thought that would mean i'm 'putting them on the market' to sell OR i'm actually selling them right then. i watch and neither of those seem to occur. my items don't appear in the market and i don't gain any gold. so what am i doing when i click a resource on the Trade button? thanks

Hmmm (grrr), i hope this is not indicative of the support we'll get when the game releases. dev is/was responding away on the Kickstarter page. don't forget us! :-)
The developer is *incredibly* responsive if you join the discord! He sometimes replies to things people say in less than a minute (though not always that fast).

You don't sell stuff instantly, someone still has to buy it and it makes sense not to see your own trades in that menu cause you cant sell to yourself.

i probably wouldn't want to back my own stuff immediately but i MAY want to later on so it's really not such a hair brained idea to show my stuff on the trading block. also, it would be nice to be able to see what i do have up for trade to allow me to see what's 'selling fast' and what's selling for a high price so i can monitor/manipulate what I put on the market in the future.

if you join the discord
probably won't hence the 'don't forget us' here on Steam where we downloaded the demo and where we'll buy and download the final release.

It's a tiny dev team with limited resources. It's your choice not to join the discord.

thanks but i just don't feel like bouncing between here and there for 1 game. frankly, the reason i bring up his (sudden) absence is that he used to be very active here.

i've heard this excuse explanation for about every game i own...

Hi, I'm still here. Discord and these forums are both good mediums for discussion about the game and I plan to stay active on both.

Resources dropped on the trade button go on the market (like you suspected) but you can't buy your own stuff back so you don't see it in the trade window after you drop it there.

You get the gold the turn after another player (or bot) buys the stuff you put up for sale. You'll see a message about the resources being sold to another civ. I wonder if the confusion here would be resolved by appending something like "offered for sale" to the text that pops up when you drop resources on the trade button. The trade window could also benefit from showing what resources you currently have up for sale even if you can't buy them back.

if i get gold from a sale i sure don't realize it as i passes by so quickly in that flurry of stuff happening after your turn. maybe add what i've earned and for what resource in the trade window. you could also add what i still have pending for sale. and why can't i buy back what i put up for trade? maybe 3 turns ago i sold a horse because i had no horseman but now i do and I want to buy it back. but then again, maybe you don't intend trade to be a major mechanic in the game as it seems all people want to do these days is kill something. anyway, i'll leave it up to you. thanks

I think showing what you currently have up for sale along with a summary of what you've sold so far this game would both be a nice addition if I can do it in a way that doesn't make the trade window too overwhelming
