after playing again and watching things it seems the icons represent what's available in the market place once you expand it and the number withing the icon is how many of that item are available for sale. is this right? in the "Trade Circle" the wheat (or is that corn?) icon represents ALL foods (cow, pigs), correct. and the wine goblet (?) represents things like salt and wool. what are those called?
and i am still confused about what i am doing when i click on say 2 of my Science resources then click the Trade Circle. i thought that would mean i'm 'putting them on the market' to sell OR i'm actually selling them right then. i watch and neither of those seem to occur. my items don't appear in the market and i don't gain any gold. so what am i doing when i click a resource on the Trade button? thanks
probably won't hence the 'don't forget us' here on Steam where we downloaded the demo and where we'll buy and download the final release.
i've heard this excuse explanation for about every game i own...
Resources dropped on the trade button go on the market (like you suspected) but you can't buy your own stuff back so you don't see it in the trade window after you drop it there.
You get the gold the turn after another player (or bot) buys the stuff you put up for sale. You'll see a message about the resources being sold to another civ. I wonder if the confusion here would be resolved by appending something like "offered for sale" to the text that pops up when you drop resources on the trade button. The trade window could also benefit from showing what resources you currently have up for sale even if you can't buy them back.
