Maybe I read the story differently but I'm pretty sure the godess he fought previously was the previous one and that the current one is a different godess entirely.
As for the rice/intrigue, they talked about it in an event where they say that apparently some gods are planning to revolt so they are trying to weaken the current leader.
I would be lying if I didn't expect something about that plot thread to have some significance during the festival or the dungeon and boss fight that follow, like those gods trying to hinder your progress towards the boss as minibosses or maybe saving the boss at the last second from being finished.
That's a nice way of looking at it. But Kinta saved her *twice*. Seems to me like her devotion to him would deepen, not lessen. That change seemed to come out of nowhere.
No, no, you're right, but it just goes to show that Kamuhitsuki are not flawless perfect beings. After the festival, when it talked about how it was the Tree of Creation or whatever, I was like "Ohshit! Kamuhitsuki is the living embodiment of the tree, if Omizuchi has access to it, he corrupted her directly!" Totally expected her to pop up after defeating the last dragon head (especially given how easy the Omizuchi actually was once I got a few timings down).
I must have missed that event. Still can't get over the sinister vibes of Kamuhitsuki talking - with her self? I dunno what that scene really was, if it was the "angel on the shoulder" trope or she had some other god there whispering things in her ear - about the golems and why she couldn't execute Kokorowa.
For me it was more that she first intended to sentence Kokorowa to death according to the laws (given that she had schemed to offer corrupted rice to her knowingly and willingly while disguising it as an genuine offering) but her "assistant" (whatever that thing is, not too sure either, maybe even split personalities given that the others don't seem to notice it?) tells her that she is too valuable to the capital's defense plan, changing the whole thing to covering up the rice issue and only sentencing her because of the explosion.
The rune factory franchise was built on the combo of both farming and dungeon-diving and it sold pretty well so having another franchise give it a go and be an enjoyable game like this is very welcome.
It seemed to me Kokorowa's epilogue about a conflict with another inventor goddess was the sequel bait. Maybe that's just me. =P
