Hey everyone,

I hope you're ready to fight demons and harvest rice in Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin!

I wanted to make a central bug thread so you guys know what we're working on and what information we need when you email us about any bugs you encounter. I'll be trying to scour the threads for new issues, but if something's not up here already please post it in this thread so it'll be easy for me to find.

Useful debug information:

• DxDiag output
  
• Steps to reproduce the issue
  
• Screenshot of in-game settings
  
• Crash dump files
  Often located here %LOCALAPPDATA%\CrashDumps
  It would be from Sakuna.exe

Please email [e-mail] with these details if you are experiencing issues with the game.

Here are some tips to make sure you're getting the best performance out of your PC!

• Make sure your graphics card is being fully utilized:
  
  • Stay updated with relevant drivers from your card manufacturer's website
    
  • Make sure you are using your main graphics card. Different graphics card manufacturers will have guides on how to always use your dedicated card.
• Add Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin to the exceptions of any antivirus program:
  
  • Sakuna.exe is the executable file you need to add.
• Turn off any power saving mode your computer might be using:
  
  • Go to Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options
    
  • Balanced or High Performance profiles should be chosen. Any Power Saving mode will lower game performance.
• Make sure your PC has the latest Windows Update installed.

I came across a crash during forest of supplementation. As I was repeatedly fighting the boss, a hue of red,blue and green showed up and just closed the game.

Reproducible: Rare

Steps to reproduce:

1. Play the forest of supplementation
2. Face the boss at the depths of supplementation over and over again.
3. the game crashes

I can't reproduce it but that's what happened.

When I loaded the save data, the game crashed

I've been playing for 11 hours now. Two crashes are caused by loading the same save data. I can't reproduce them. The crash seems to be random

and the error code is 0xc0000005

please incorporate full xbox controller support.

so with the xbox displays (X,A,Y,B etc) layout
and that you can use the analog stick for looking around!
so there on the rice field. Somehow it only works with the mouse.

I find the game really cuddly and interesting.
but that bothers me personally but something

the game does have native DS4 and XBOX layout though.... it was a bit hacky on steam side to get DS4 to work natively (you essentially must not let steam boot it's own set of controller configs)

a bug that makes game crush and ruined.
behavior: cannot finish Kaimaru's Suspicious Behavior, send him out will not trigger the event.
reason: I found a path inside the rock when going delusion's path part 2(or 3?), cannot tell where, thought it's a small bug and just close& restart game. after restart still inside a strange place, then using world map to force quit. That's the only place I thought may cause main line task.

Found a fix regarding the control emulation issue for dualshock 4 and xbox controllers

You have to basically hide your controller and only leave the emulated one,you may do so following this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0Z7U5y-AiI or this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBGJZ_e9ybI

I tested this with a generic dualshock and emulating it as a xbox360 using XOutput and emulating a ps4 controller using vdx,both work fine,however remember to start the emulation first,as to have a working controller and after that blacklist your controller that is the real one,and leave the emulated one alone

Also remember that after finishing the emulation,you controller will not work because it will be hidden,so you have to whitelist your controller from hid guardian or from the regedit for it to work again correctly after the emulation ends.

im still having trouble with the geoge's master, its still crashing after i beat it, ive played the boss 5 times now and again and again it just keeps crashing

Controller support (Major Issues)...especially for Switch Pro Controller. Majority of games on steam when play with Switch Pro Controller ALWAYS use Xbox Icon. <--- Atleast do something like these. Xbox Icon are WAY BETTER than number icon.

Standing where the Purple Scourge spawns seems to prevent it from spawning. I saw it flash in, then it failed to appear and now my camera's wobbling forward and backwards.

Cool bug, sooo glad for autosaving at area starts.

Just wanted to update.

I play wireless/Bluetooth with XBOX icons (with the TaueConfig.json fix) on my DS4.

I tried renaming the preset to PS4 but that only made the icons much more confusing (The X button on the DS4 was displayed as SQUARE).

Hope this can be fixed soon :)
haven't even started the game (spent better part of 30 mins troubleshooting)

Disabling Steam Inputs and playing the DS4 wired works fine (no issues with PS icons)

RAM: 16GB @ 2666MHz
60Hz monitor

Game loading freezes when entering the main house after defeat enemies NIGHT on cylindric cavern. I can't get back to the game, even restarting. The save is stuck on this screen.
