Camera while planting is flat out stupid
The hardest part about planting is the camera being such a hassle. This is terrible, the devs should be ashamed of this mess.

Yeah, I dislike the camera moving slightly, impeding me planting in a straight line :S.

Not only that, it doesn't even line up properly in the first place to make it straightforward backing up to plant in a row even without the movement of the camera. Frankly, it's so bad that it's surprising that made it through alpha testing. Seems like "being able to put the seeds where you want without spending a stupidly long time stepping around and realigning and adjusting over and over for all the seeds that are planted.

It almost feels like it's an intended part of the difficulty. Which it shouldn't be. Bad controls /= meaningful challenge or fun game play.

You don't need perfect straight lines. You just need a minor adjustment to the camera every second or two and you're fine. I finish planting in less than a minute. That said, there should be a skill that locks the camera in place, just like how you get skills that make everything else easier about farming. Maybe there is though, I thought I had obtained all the skills and then I got circle planting.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I hate the planting. Everything from the reversed controls to the camera makes it a giant un-fun chore. I also hate how you have to stand completely still in the combat to actually use multiple attacks rather than just the dash attack.

Planting would be so much better if there was a little circle showing you where your plant was going to go.

It's not really reversed controls while planting. Sakuna still moves in the direction you tilt the stick. She's just walking backwards

I don't use a stick, I use mouse/keyboard. Why would I use a stick? The store page even says that controller support is "limited" so it's clearly designed for mouse/keyboard. Unless there's some other control type they designed the game for that I'm not aware of?

It has full controller support. It even has internal support for DS4 and Switch Pro controllers. I don't know why it's listed on the store page as having partial controller support, but it's not true.

Well, I don't use controllers. I play every game keyboard and mouse, controllers suck imo. Is this a controller specific game? There's nothing on the store page about this being a port, so idk why this wouldn't be keyboard/mouse focused.

*note, store page actually says "partial controller support" not limited, my mistake. Regardless, if this game is primarily intended to be played with a controller, I don't see how it would have even been put on the store with partial controller support, even in an early access way.

It's not controller-specific, but now that I know you're using kb/m I understand your frustration with the planting controls. Only having 8-way movement instead of the smooth 360 degree movement a stick would give will affect how easy the planting is.

There's your problem, you don't use controllers. No wonder.

The store page indicates a bias against controllers, why would I think it's a game specifically for controllers?

Sounds like this is a return in the making. Bummer.

Literally every single game with sidescrolling platforming is better played with a controller. This is common sense.

That added literally nothing to the conversation. Be worthwhile or shoo.

For a game with only "partial controller support" that isn't a port, keyboard and mouse should be optimal for controls. At the very least, when farming it's not a side scrolling game. Which completely negates your point, as the side scrolling portion of the game is not the problem being discussed.

This is still so bad as to be utterly shameful for the developer to have it out in this poor state of the game. It's not hard to fix, as an option to lock the camera behind you would pretty well resolve it for farming. So it's strange that they'd put the game out there in such an awful state.

You ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about the partial controller support and ranting about how controllers suck adds nothing. You started this thread to complain about cameras.

On the topic of planting this is pissing me off. I'm trying to plant on the square right infront of me, but the game is playing a square away for some reason. Like what the ever living ♥♥♥♥ is this? Four plants right next to eachother ♥♥♥♥ my life.

Edit: Apparently I unlocked double planting. Somehow I got a balanced ratio, but this was frustrating.

It's still about the camera. While planting. You're the one taking it off topic with your "hurr durr side scroller controller iz teh godx0rz" nonsense that has nothing to do with the camera during planting.

Go start your own thread. You clearly can't hold a conversation on topic, and just want to troll this one. You still aren't even responding to the topic, you just edited in that extra planting whining to present a facade of being on topic, and it didn't work. Get out.
