What to do with dogs?

I have three dogs on standby, but what can I actually do with them?

when on the map screen you can send people out to gather equal to the amount of dogs you have.

It seems somewhat story gated(the amount of pets you can have) but yeah, sending him to a location where you didn't get pet before yet and then going back home instantly can trigger cutscene which gives you cat or dog.

That's how you get them... Just try all the locations available by recalling him back and sending him to another then going back home again.

As you progress through the game, you will gradually get more dogs, as well as other animals.

nah i almost finished the game and only had 2 dogs, sent kaimaru to all available locations and got all animals in one day, all dogs all cats and the cow
