No Controller Support

Hey, i got Blacklist as my first splintercell and it felt somehow wrong without even knowing the old splinter cells.
so i just wanted to try them (not finish, but maybe play halfway through or something)

but for the first time my xbox controller doesnt work, wtf ? :<
is this right?

None of the old games support xinput. You'll need a directinput controller. I haven't tried the original Splintercell with a controller,but this seems to be the case with Splintercell Chaos theory.

I find it really weird that it doesn't support an XBOX controller.
After all, the game originally released on the original XBOX and has the same control layout there. How hard would it be to modify that code to work withthe PC game.

Just happy I have Xpadder (legally) so I can play this gem like it's supposed to be played. Remember playing it on the Gamecube and loving it.

Native Xbox 360 controller support is a benefit of Microsoft making software for the purpose of PC ports of 360 games. There wasn't the same support back in the Xbox era and there was no standard for controller support on PCs.

umm , no it isnt . Some games are designed to be played with a controller . I would not play a racing game with M and K because its not as good as using a controller and a controller isnt better then using a wheel for them .

Well my ♥♥♥♥ gets smaller everytime I'm forced to use KB/M on my PC. My girls hate it, so I'm only allowed to buy games with native controller support.

Splinter Cell Chaos Theory works with xinput controller except for the triggers. You'll need Xpadder or something similar to map them to your mouse buttons or whatnot. Double Agent, Conviction, and Blacklist all have native 360 controller support, but Xbox One controllers don't work at all in Double Agent and the face buttons are all clockwise one step in Conviction.
