Pistol precision? what is that?
I like the game, the graphic the physics, but i rly dont understand why is the pistol so inaccurate even on 1m distance(with focused sight) it happen that 4-5th bullet hit the target, is there any patch or mod or something to fix that?

Learn the bullet spin and adjust for parabolic effect

what?

You have to take your time and aim better. I take a few mid and long range shots with the pistol in this game and 90+% of the time hit on rnd 1. it worked for me on the OG X and it works on the steam PC version.

Is it possible you have an aboration/conflict between game and monitor? I played SC1 with and without the widescreen fix and both aim fine

I recently started playing this and the successful shot rate has been the most unreliable part. I can be aiming halfway across a room at the camera's or lights and get the aim stability to stand still, but not consistently hit them. Ghidrah1, I know you say you can get 90% hit rate, but from the viewpoint that an elite spy cannot always hit something while standing still shots seems ridiculous to me. what resolution do you play at? Does that seem to have an effect on success rate?

Personally, for me the ridiculous part is expecting a hand held pistol even held by a marksman to be precise past 60 feet, (let alone under extreme conditions). There're so many calculations required let alone a none vibrating restraint, (hands) to put a rnd in the eye.

If you're talking about the rifle then use the hold your breath button for accuracy.

As for the 1st 4 SC games, Sam is a recon pro and not a sniper. The game puts Sam at a disadvantage to make it a bit more real. Consider all the gear he drags around all that gear would weigh a man down big time let alone be wicked noisy.

Learn to adapt, adjust your strategy to stealth and get closer to your target before sending one

My friend that you talking about is truth mostly in real life, every average shooter can hit the target in distance of 10m with 5 bullet in circle of 2-3cm, 2nd Sam is specialist not ordinary soldier so am sure he have very good training course to master hand shaking gun recoil his breathing and other stuffs. The most important thing is that Splinter Cell is not simulator so all those things from above written are not exist in game, If i take the fact that am playing games about 25years i can say that pistol and sight are not good optimized when the shot is focused, or how some1 like to say with small sight. IF i am in crouch position 1-2m from camera or the guard and my 4-5th miss the target that is software problem wich can be fixed. its ok if 1 o f10 bullet not hit the target on that distance, but shooting with random luck and blaming the others how bad aiming have are total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I like the game ,only was hoping there is a fix for pistol

Sorry guys, I don't have the problems you do.
Is there a specific mission you have problems with or is it all of the games?

I use 10 rnds in SC1, 4 of them in Mission 8 CE2, all 1 rnd shots med to short range, 2 of them while hanging from the horizontal flag pipe in the lobby.

I'm trying top remember back, I can't recall if it was one of my RE, or DC games that had a sighting error, I vaguely recall having to aim to the right or left of the actual target to hit it.
You might try clearing an area of BGs then spending some time trying to diagnose the issue.

If the error isn't in your firing MO then maybe there's an issue with your screen res or video driver compatibility.

The guns are really inaccurate on purpose to convince you to rely on stealth instead of shooting your way out of situations

Agreed, this isn't an FPS, Sam was meant to be a ghost not a killer. He was designed without the ability to whip all over the place like a tornado firing from the hip. Sam was built for stealth, creeping around in the shadows avoiding confrontation whenever possible.

Today's military and paramilitary organizations are wired and make regular com checks. What happens when someone on watch misses a check in? The risk of an operative being killed/captured and ID'd would be overwhelming.

Its the hallmark of Tom Clancy games that I liked. Such as in Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon. Guns are very inaccurate when moving, necessitating intentional, precise movements. In Splinter Cell basically every shot but the first is guaranteed to miss, and even the first if you don't stay still for several seconds. Chaos Theory further reinforced this by making melee knockouts 1-hit, as opposed to the first game where 2 were required unless you were behind and they weren't alerted. First game is quite a bit harder in retrospect, but CT is so much more polished it makes up for that by having more robust gameplay. Conviction was a total joke letting you put marks on and instakill several guys like a John Woo movie
