Spotted in total darkness?
Currently in mission 1 where you first meet some guards, inside the house it is pitch black but my light meter is full is this a bug?

I haven't encountered any bugs during the Police Station. Could you be more specific with your description? I don't recall being in any dark buildings with BGs inside.

I'm on the CIA level now and noticed it a lot, think its just the lighting engine, standing in a fully dark spot but my meter is max

You're playing the game with the widescreen fix and the PS3 textures yeah?

You're used to playing the 2001 Xbox version and all your usual hides are still dark to the eye but your light meter is full or near full bright.

When I began playing the steam version, (prior to the addons) the light was messed up, (flood/searchlights) were lit up but not reflecting off the ground making Abattoir and Pres Palace nearly impossible to play.

There is a fix that works for the above at that point seems all my hides still worked. The widescreen and texture fixes were installed after the mission 6 vid. 2 of the19 hides from the Abattoir to Pres Palace didn't work and I'm finding more in the 3 xpacs.

Something gets messed up with the widescreen and textures fix but I was able to adjust.

ohhhh I see I never played the older version started the series with pandora tommorow and finally picked this up, I did notice my game is way darker than screenshots, I've added a command to the launch options which seems to have made it a bit better (and flashlights to appear lol) I really want them to make another game more this style than blacklist was

I've only played the 1st 4 Xbox games after watching a couple Blacklist game play vids that turned me off I gave up on the series.

I thought blacklist was really good still I just prefer these especially chaos theory a lot more, blacklist doesn't deserve the hate it gets especially after conviction

SCCT is also my fav.

JMO,
I didn't like all the messages pointing out what to do and where to go and what to pick up in Blacklist, seemed like the game treated the player like he/she wasn't clever enough to figure out on their own.
I didn't care for all the cut scenes/FMVs, (whatever you call them) seemed more like watching a movie than playing a game.

Yeah tbh that annoyed me too, I've really enjoyed on the older games (about half way through CT now) how it doesn't tell you where the objectives are. makes it feel more realistic

The main thing that bothered me is that in conviction Fisher is 55 and done with being a spy but in blacklist he has a different personality and looks about 25

Irked the crap out of me too
I prefer making the decisions on how and where to do what and when.
I feel that SCCT allowed me to be the sneakiest sneak possible.

Yeah it felt more like being a proper spy and working things out on the spot than being an action hero lead everywhere. oh well theres a new one rumoured so lets hope

Fishers whole sarcastic banter with everyone kind of made the character it's annoying they removed all that

Agreed I liked his snarkiness too. I've been a fan of Michael Ironside for a long long time, at 70, the actor is still kicking butt on the tube and screen. Way back in 84 he did a short lived sci-fi tv show called "V" and he's been Ham ever since. He was great in Total Recall too. Seems like they made the roles for him.
