what would it take to give this game full controller support?

i'm interested in this game, but my one caveat is to have seamless controller game-play support.

idk if the dev is still working on this game, but i can look passed the very basic design and textures and models of the NPC's, but the controller support is where i stay my hand because it must have damn good support in this area.
