1A: Also already possible. Once you have completed a level you can go back into it at any time.
2: The point of the Sandbox is more to give you a free-form challenge than it is a 'free build mode' That being said, any of the Campaign levels can be played in 'Millionaire Mode' (accessed the same way as 'No Timer') where your bank balance never goes down.
3: Expanding the station catchment area would probably somewhat unbalance the campaign, making it significantly easier to work around intentional space restrictions present in some levels
4: Am still yet to play much in Sandbox myself
5: AFAIK Warehouse Load/Unload speeds are determined by your train load/unload speeds. Warehouses can also be upgraded like other industries to hold more stuff.
6: There is a button to display a train stats window in the train purchasing window, I believe that the default key to turn it on/off is "T"
It should be right there when you go to load a campaign mission.

if you already have loaded the mission you'll need to press the "Reset Region" button to clear the existing save.
Press 'Esc' and click 'Save and goto Overworld' ??
