no longer recieving xp to level cats in endgame?

i'm in the end game now and i haven't changed how i've played but am now recieving barely any exp to level my cats (like a 1 cat exp to 20 staff exp ratio). how do you earn cat exp/why am i not getting it?

You cats earn XP whenever they get petted by a customer. Are you sure all cats are fed/not stressed etc? :)

ty for the reply! my cats were all well fed with low stress, i think it may just be very slow earning compared to staff exp.
