Why is my staff lazy?

Every time my waiter perform an action he just stand there waiting for solid 5 seconds before going to the next one, which makes him barely useful. My cook just go from order to order like a maniac so I dont know why the waiters are so slow even though they perform the task almost instantly bc they are lvl 10. Is this normal?

Your staff pauses a bit between tasks to give you a chance to pick up some tasks as well :) Staff that was constantly working would be way too powerful, haha!

I was wondering about this as well, but as you progress you get more staff and it gets better. Plus with you as a staff member of the Cafe (you are wearing the same uniform as them and carrying a tray :) ) it all works out.

I personally found that staff do more tasks per minute if they are assigned both cooking and waiting. If they are assigned one or another, it leaves a long pause where they could've done either task. I appreciate their attempt to let us specialise, but it doesn't work.

Perhaps maybe they would stand idle, or start useless chat with the costumer and you would have the option of going there and send they back to work? That would make me feel more in control while preventing the shop to be run by them alone.
