nectar earnings so low it's kinda killing the game for me
So i know it shouldn't be to easy, but when i can't afford half my stock and there isnt even an option to chose to take some food off the menu it just ends up with unhappy customers.... so less profit, less nectar.....even less ingredients and so on in a annoying loop.

Hey Stormie! What point in the game are you at currently? Could you maybe send me your save file (at support@roost.games) so I can check out the state of your game? That might give us a better sense of what stages of the game have imbalances in them :)

i have two tables and 8 chairs... 5 cats. i'm pretty early in the game so i'm a little shocked it's already frustrating, but honestly if you allow us to de-select menu items that would solve it. if i can't afford salad, then until i can save a bit i can take off the salad from the menu. does that make sense?

To give you a positive so i'm not just throwing negative at you, other than this one or two things at the moment i'm enjoying the game a lot, the art is cute, the cats are adorable, i love the way the customers talk to the cats too ^_^.

Thanks for the info (and the kind words)! And yeah, game balancing is always precarious :D Could you maybe send me your save file (at support@roost.games)? Then I can check the entire state of the game, see where the pinch point is coming from exactly, and in what way we are a little too harsh. The amount of nectar you get depends on a lot of factors (Carla's level, how happy the witches are, which is split into all different needs again, and the all round upkeep of ingredients), so it can get a little complicated :)

i mean, I probably could but i'm suuuuuuuper dumb so i don't know how lol but i'm still playing the game anyways, i can still only afford to buy one ingredient each day [or two occasionally of the cheaper ones] i honestly don't mind that it takes a lot of time, i just find it frustrating that people want things i have no ingredients for which makes no sense to me since if i didn't have what it takes to make something, i surely wouldn't have it on my menu.

[shout out to Kara Corvus who's the streamer i saw this game on btw]

I found a nice little work around that might help you get more nectar! click on the advertisement, and make sure that you only have the nectar/witches enabled. You'll only get them coming into your shop. It might take you a couple in games day to get a high number of nectar, but it does really help. Currently on day 109 with over 4k nectar. Hope this helps :)

you're welcome! can't wait to hear about your results. you might want to get the alien cat too bc with when a customer leaves you get +10 resources for everything. the lure you're gonna want to use is the meteorite

Yeah I find the number of days that I have all witch days to earn the menu items in the early game were fairly annoying, doable but it is frustrating to advertise to only one type of customer for ages because it slows down how fast you can get to the fun stuff of saving up for decorating your cafe.

In my playthrough at least I found myself mainly serving witches then having artist/business days I rarely served punks, vagabonds, fishermen because of how many upgrades rely on nectar/gold/gems like even getting litterboxes/toys etc rely on gold + fish. I'd like to see options that combined fabrics and fish in the pet store or fish and nectar for food or materials and gems for plants. Just so we don't feel like only 3 types of clients take up 90% of the game

My first game I did everything as fast as the game allowed and ended up quitting to start again since nectar was in such short supply and the customers were freaking out at my inability to give them what they wanted.

In my second game I tried something a bit different and that was to not progress the relationships as quickly. This allowed me to grind out the nectar while still serving a variety of customers and keeping them satisfied and happy. It seemed very slow compared to my first game but reduced my frustration about the nectar acquisition immensely. I progressed the relationships once I had acquired enough nectar to have purchased the necessary recipes and ingredients in anticipation of the next level requirements.

It's definitely not for everyone but it worked for me. Good luck!

this worked well ^_^ at least i can buy stuff now but the witches basically only want what i don't even offer on my menu now.... which is weird right lol who goes to a shop and orders something they don't even offer on their menu? lol love you advise though!! thank you so much
