So now I just started the foxgirl.. and oh man... chapter 3... If this was Japan, they'd be burning down your studio right now. If your lucky, it might just end in a review bomb instead... I laughing so much now, cause its just epic fail. Im guessing you guys are new to japanese culture, or your first time doing an eroge style VN game. You really should of done some research. Or maybe I just commenting a bit early and already you got a thorough story planned to amend this.
Also it seems they aren't just trying to make a blatant hentai visual novel, if you want that experience I would recommend checking out the many other generic hentai visual novels with multiple options and complex story arcs. This is not that kind of game, its obvious the three choice thing is just a bit of flair and fanfare, not a primary gameplay aspect. The primary gameplay aspect comes from running your love tavern, thats why its called love tavern and not love tavern story. This isn't holding the game back at all, because its not a game based on being a visual novel.
I also think it might be arrogant for you to assume a japanese person's perspective on the scene from Chapter 3. Chances are most people playing this that would be japanese don't really care about the story either. Its hentai.. story is never good in any kind of P**n, its all bout getting your jollies off and adding some simple backstory to set the scene.
Also talking about burning studios down in japan is something said in poor taste, you really are a low individual considering the tragedy that occurred not too long ago about a Japanese animation studio literally burning down.
You should watch the anime TWGOK, then you would understand the reference of burning the studio to the ground, its not something I said in poor taste. What could of made this game really good was interactions of the story to the hotel. As for the hentai scenes themselves, im still a little confused if its suppose to be hotel guests, or us as hotel manager. Im just really confused here, so im not really talking about those. It was more of the VN part.
The whole Izumi foxigirl story could of been good if her first crush, crushed her hopes and feelings, which then somehow led her to the goddess and working at the hotel. But what we got had me wondering, what the hell is the point of this ? It literally has her confessing to another guy, a bishie prince at that.
I got shown this game, and hoped it be about running a hotel and interacting and managing with the girls working for us. Especially monster girls. I been looking for these kinda games for a while. But sadly the game doesnt really do a good job at this. A game like "Love and war, a warlod by chance, does a much better job at this. mixing arcade and VN. At the end of the day, maybe I just expected more :/. ALso wish there was more ongoing story and interactions with the godess, she seemed to become the receptionist. It looked like it was a partnership project and needed you to run it. Least I can say its not overpriced for what it is. It was 7 AUD for me.
I mean, this game is in early access, there are a lot of things that have yet to be revealed and are unpolished. For a 5 $ early access game, this is much better than many $20-30 early access games I've played that have been way more hyped up. Personally I'm not a fan of the Visual novel style in games that aren't visual novels. Most of the time the game suffers to make the VN stuff work. This doesn't really feel like that, the VN stuff is super lite and I don't mind it.
I think you need to look at the game as a whole, not a small aspect of the game, because the Visual Novel stuff is a very, very small aspect of it and once again it is early access so it can be changed and the devs seem very open to communication with the playerbase. I think its quite disingenuous to say that this small aspect of a more or less tavern/brothel simulation game is holding the game back. The main aspects are the management and the lewd, if the visual novel stuff never changes from its current state, I think the game would be just fine, but if it evolves and upgrades, well I hope its not at the cost of other systems, ya know what I mean?
All in all, this is a pretty good looking game, and I especially respect the devs for reading and listening to feedback from players and even implementing changes.
