Why does the game want to push me offline?

I don't understand why almost the entire left upper side of the skill tree is made up of bonuses for offline play.? I feel as if I need to let this game run offline more than I actually am on it. How does this make playing the game fun? I would understand if perhaps it was tied to an AFK timer. I am one who likes to leave the game running in the background. This just makes me feel like the dev is saying, "Hey don't play my game, you will do better with it turned off."

Can't please everyone. Some people actual despise having to leave games running in the background while not at the pc. I get it. I pay for my own bills and I never leave my rig going just for a game either lol Anyways, don't think the dev wants people offline just trying to make the game practical for afk farming. I think it's a positive honestly.

its your choice which perks to learn, there is only 1 early offline perk which you have to learn to get to other active perks and it only costs a few points. So far active gains have been a lot better for me, there are plenty of perks as well as upgrades for gold that increase active soul gains.
Im at 466 Slayer points (+ another 400 once i ascend) and right now im getting about 2 points per minute of active play (means i use boosts and jump to get coins and flying monsters) but it takes at least 3 minutes to get 1 point while being offline. Letting the game run in the background would probably give more points than logging off as well, mainly because in my current world, i get most of my souls from ground enemies. The difference should be a lot smaller though.

As for my perks, I got all the soul related perks in the upper half of the tree, except for the enemy spawn stuff at the right center part of the tree. This includes Soul Reaper, the 1% per sword and dagger lvl offline bonuses (both items upgraded to the highest multiple of 10 I can afford), the 200% more souls from enemies slain ingame, as well as x2 during boost and the 2% boost cooldown reduction for every gold coin.

It does not push you going offline, offline gains will always be much worse than active play, but ofcourse there are upgrades to increase offline gains, expected from an idle game with offline gains.

As with all idle/clicker games sadly. Be happy there are offline gains at all, not all idle games do that.

I have only started recently but gotten 9000+ kills offline and less than 2000 online. Most of my souls were gained offline so far.

Doesn't sound right to me, did you get number reversed or most of your SP purchase is offline boost?

I'm nearly max SP purchase bonuses. When I leave game up in the background and play something else, then over the 24 hours or so, I earn like 6000 SP at least. BUT if I turn off game, and come back later after 24 hours, I just earn 2500 SP. I know sound small SP gain, but you know requirement to get SP gets larger and larger. Minion quests is going to become essential late game.

It might depend on the portal/zone as well, the best offline zone is castle once you have all evolutions. I just got 4100 SP in only 11 hours. I dont know how much i'd get if i had the game running in the background though. Its worth mentioning that im on a fresh ascension. When you didnt ascend for a long time, then the SP gain from kills will go down because of the increasing requirement, but once you ascend, the Slayer perk will increase your Soul gain by an equal amount, so your SP gain is back at its highest (after getting all relevant upgrades) or even higher than before if you can afford new upgrades.

The game favours online play but in the late endgame you can put more skills into gains from offline.
