Sorry for necroing the thread but just to clear things up Two Thrones features no decapitations and slicing enemies in half because that's the way it was meant to be. Ubi is not marketing the US version anymore digitally because that was a flawed release (don't know what they were thinking, maybe they thought it would be easier to market the game with all the blood in the US), just think about it: cutting enemies in half with a freakin' dagger? That level of gore was very out of place for Two Thrones.

Hmm Im playing this game right now, I live in Costa Rica but Im pretty sure we get the north american version and it has decapitations and enemies cut in half, some of the decapitations I get a slow motion camera for extra dramatic effect.

Read my previous comment here. In short: you can't buy the gory version anymore and there's no point for that one anyway.

No point for YOU. Some people, like me, just don't like to be censored.

Thank you guys for this thread, i'm not buying a "you can kill thousands of enemies made outta sand but you'd better not see any heads falling off" kinda game. (Still great game tho XD)

It's not censorship, the US version is just a half-assed gory version. Trust me, I've played the US version and the decapitations feel forced, crappy and buggy. Cutting down head with a dagger or watching heads basically just disappear after strangling an enemy with a chain from above? :D Also they don't even bleed, it's just flashy sand everywhere. In the "censored" (means: proper) version of the game sold on steam you don't cut off their heads with the dagger - you slice their throats.

If you want gore go play Warrior Within where it's done properly.

Makes sense but ive seen some people complaining about how the "censored" enemy animations like when they take damage or die feel kinda clunky.
I have to say its been some time since ive played it (back in that first xbox and im pretty sure my copy has all that gore) so i might have jumped to conclusions. Do you think the game plays any better this way?

Overall I think it does. The only animation where I miss cutting enemies in half is the one where you jump on them, take their swords and cut them in half with their weapon. It looks weird how an enemy just hits the ground after seeing the full animation in WW but if you take all the new animations and the speed kills into consideration it's a very minor complaint. Also the overall feel of the game is much brighter than how WW looked like so I think the lack of over-the-top gore fits into the art style very nicely, just like it did in Sands of Time.

Cool, i may get the game after this XD. It's not like i care much about the gore, its because I think it's dump to "censor" this kinda game which is rated M already, but this game still is a good one so thanks for the different opinion!

I prefer the gory version, because that's the one I played first, and without it I feel like it's missing something. The blood and gore provided believability and gameplay feedback -- it's not all about being a bloodthirsty sicko (not that you'd be playing a PoP game if you were; these games are completely tame compared to others).

It gives the player a sense of control, that he can decide his enemies fate.

Sadly no. If there would be one, then im sure it would have been popular enough so everyone will know about it.

From what i understand, the gore spliting sand creatures in half, decapitating them, etc, is tied to the game .exe . If someone is having original disks US uncensored version but wants to use the EU version no-cd exe, its US ver will become censored too.

Im surprised no one since 2005 tried to release a patch for this. Not even Ubisoft. What the heck we are talking about some stupid sand creatures, it's not SoF realistic gore featuring limbs, brains, guts etc. Lets not forget Ubisoft also doesnt give a damn about SC Pandora Tommorow broken shaders while using modern drivers. They fixed it in the PS3 HD version, but havent bothered to release a PC fix.

Shame...
