Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones

Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones

Not functional on Windows 10
Hi,
I've been playing for 2 hours now and I can't continue the game because of a dumb bug.
The game clearly doesn't work with windows 10 (x64) with or without multi-core, vsync, etc...
The AI bugs (enemis walk in circle and fall to their deaths, etc...), If you have to go down a chain you will be stuck (the character goes down one animation length and the is stuck at this height for good), etc...
If someone found a way to fix it all i'd be gratefull but otherwise avoid buying this game if your OS is too recent.

I run Windows 10 x64 and Prince TTT works fine.
I had some compatibility issues with Mafia II on Windows 10 and I solved it this way:

Right click on "Game executable... Properties... Compatibility... Run compatibility troubleshooter... Try recommended settings... Test the program".

In my case the game (Mafia II) launched, but the video was not OK, so I quitted the game, went back to "Mafia2.exe... Properties... Compatibility" and unchecked "Run program in compatibility mode".

I can launch the game in win10 x64, however in 800x600 and it will freeze when I'm trying to change resolution or any graphics settings.

I had the same problem with the "getting stuck on chain" so I couldn't continue the game. I had to just give up and stop playing. But, I have Windows 7, and was using the CDROM version, not download. I also had a problem at the very last level of PoP Warrior Within, where some walkway got stuck in the wrong position and I couldn't continue the game. There must be something wrong with the PC port versions. Maybe the digital rights management? I don't know... I'm super bummed out... this just sucks. Why even bother playing video games at all if the ones that are "good" don't work right? Why bother playing when they start on consoles and get messed up if converted to play on PC? Consoles are stupid now that PCs are so much better (after about 1998). That's why I have a PC. And now people don't even interact online like they used to. I mean, how lonely and bored should I get? Nothing works right. I want my money and time back, please.

I've played this game on windows 7 and had the same issues that you had. The most easy fix for it, is to play the game on windows 10. there I haven't had problems.

All the issues people are describing here are cause by the frame rate. The game engine doesn't work properly at high frame rates on modern computers. Lock your game to 60 fps or less, and all these bugs will disappear. It has nothing to do with the OS.

I had the same problem at Windows 10 x64 that is I have stucked at chain while lowering down. After some researches I have reached a solution that worked on my game:

To lock your game to 60 fps you should use a program such as Dxtory

Yeah capping fps to 30 works. 60 still gave me the lock.

What fixed it for me also was to change your screen to 60 Hz instead of anything higher, since the game doesn't function that well with anything higher than that. The chain bug should then get fixed.

Hey! Great news, thank you for sharing :)

In my experience these issues for older games are nearly always resolved by enabling V-Sync or limiting the FPS.

I hope you're enjoying the game!
