Cat food?

the hobo gave me a hint on where he hid the cat food which was by the elevator in people's square, but I can't find it

The cat is at your home. Just enter the apartment and head left to the balcony. Its sitting at the top of the balcony.

It runs away after you feed it (and pet it?) and then leave the screen. I have not found it again yet or know if its possible to even find it.

the cat then appears down in the basement of the town and then up above your apartment in the hidden room on the top right. After that you should get to name him and he is yours in the house.

I'm not seeing this room that you guys are mentioning. At least I'm not seeing any cat food (or an elevator for that matter) in the room before the one in the bottom left. What are the coordinates of the room?

it is hidden in the ground before the elevator in people's square. if you have the map upgrade it is a pink dot.

I currently have everything in the game, with the exception of 2 discs and 2 missions (saving the robots and chronicling all of the locations, people, and enemies). I may just be missing the mark, but I try to feed the cat and I get a circle with a slash through it. Petting it gives me a heart. So I assume that means that I don't have the cat food (I also don't remember picking it up during the game). I definitely get no indicators on the map of anything except the basic stuff.
